The ROG Xbox Ally X isn’t officially available until October 16th, but it seems Amazon France jumped the gun. A Reddit user, Technical_Fun77, shared photos of their new Ally X, which they received nearly three weeks early – despite it not being released yet. They thanked Amazon for the premature delivery. It looks like someone got lucky!
Someone at Amazon France is getting fired, right?
I’m eagerly waiting for my Xbox ROG Ally X order from the UK, but it looks like someone in France is already enjoying theirs! @XboxAllyNews spotted a quick hands-on review online. Interestingly, Amazon France briefly listed an October 1st delivery date just last week, making the wait even harder.
WTFF ALMOST 3 WEEK BEFORE! from r/ROGAlly
I initially thought it was just a simple mistake, but now it seems like something bigger is actually happening. It’s got me wondering, who at Amazon is going to be held accountable for this? I’m also really curious to see how Microsoft will react. But honestly, what I *really* want to know is: when am I getting my hands on a UK version?

As to what Technical_Fun77 had to say about his experience thus far, you can read that below:

More first impressions are being released early
It seems several Xbox ROG Ally X units have already been shipped to customers. One Reddit user, ‘hmika,’ shared photos of their early delivery from Amazon France, noting it feels “very light and comfortable,” particularly when compared to the Steam Deck. They also pre-ordered the Legion Go 2 for a side-by-side comparison, but might have a long wait due to ongoing pre-order issues. A leaked unboxing video appeared on Facebook as well, though it doesn’t seem Amazon France was the source of the leak.
What this means for the rest of us
It’s a bit frustrating, but also really cool, to see people already testing the Ally X. Early impressions suggest Asus has improved on the original Ally, making it more comfortable to hold, with better cooling and longer battery life. Still, I’m a little jealous I don’t have one yet! But it’s all good fun.
Preorders have been selling out fast at most stores, and Amazon seems to have started selling the new Xbox and Asus devices earlier than expected. It’s a promising beginning for this partnership.
