Among Us Rallies Fans as Paramount Series Awaits Season 2 Confirmation

Several popular video games have successfully transitioned to animated series on streaming platforms, with titles like Devil May Cry, Castlevania, Persona, and Arcane proving to be hits. Recently, Paramount+ surprised viewers by releasing the entire first season of Among Us – ten episodes in total – all at once. The show has quickly gained a following, and the series’ creators are now using social media to encourage Paramount+ to renew it for another season.

I was totally cracking up at what Among Us did on social media! They basically put out a plea for a second season, posting, “I hope someone picks us up for a season two!” It’s only been a few weeks since the first season dropped, so it’s hard to say if Paramount+ will renew it. But honestly, we’ve seen other shows get saved by streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime Video, so there’s still hope! It’s a total mystery where the next chapter of Among Us will land, or even if it will, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed!

Will Among Us Return?

Many fans may not realize that Owen Dennis is the creative force behind the animated series Among Us. He’s a well-known animator with a strong background, having previously worked on popular shows like Regular Show, Regular Show: The Lost Tapes, and Infinity Train. Dennis recently shared how his experiences at Cartoon Network helped shape the adaptation for Paramount.

I gained a strong understanding of storytelling through shows like Infinity Train and Regular Show. With Regular Show, the fast pace of production – constantly needing new stories – really made me focus on hitting specific plot points and understanding how a story should unfold. We aimed to subvert expectations with both of those shows, and we applied that same approach when working on Among Us.

Dennis explained that Regular Show always reset at the end of each episode – even if everything was destroyed, things would be back to normal for the next one. He wanted Infinity Train to be different, with choices and events having lasting consequences that carried over from episode to episode. They applied this idea to Among Us, where the story focuses heavily on characters and a central mystery, aiming to create an emotionally engaging experience.
