Amy Robach & T.J. Holmes Make Rare Appearance With Blended Family

Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes pressed play on a night out with their family.

Just two months after getting engaged, the former hosts of GMA3: What You Need to Know were seen at Z100 Jingle Ball in New York City with their daughters.

At the December 12th event, T.J.’s 12-year-old daughter, Sabine, stood with her father, who was wearing a brown velvet coat and black pants. His fiancée, Amy, arrived in a dark brown lace dress and stood on his other side with her children, 22-year-old Ava and 19-year-old Annalise, and her first husband, Tim McIntosh.

For the music event, Sabine chose a vibrant red mini dress paired with black tights. Annalise wore a brown halter dress with polka dots, and Ava opted for a sleek black off-the-shoulder outfit.

Going to Jingle Ball has become a yearly tradition for Amy and T.J. from the podcast of the same name. They attended the 2023 concert as a date night, and Sabine and Annalise were there last year.

Amy, 52, and T.J., 48, have been enjoying life since getting engaged in September. The couple, who lost their jobs at ABC News in January 2023 after revealing their relationship, recently shared what they’ve been up to.

I’m so excited to share some personal news! On our podcast back in October, we announced that we’re engaged – and we’d actually been engaged for about a month already! It feels amazing and we couldn’t wait to share it with everyone.

T.J., who began dating Amy (formerly married to Andrew Shue) before his divorce from Marilee was complete, hinted at the situation, stressing the need to be open and honest about it.

He explained they wanted to share the news directly, before anyone else did. They’d learned from past experiences that being open about their relationship was important.

Although the couple recently announced their engagement, rumors had been circulating that they’d gotten engaged sooner. They were still figuring out their plans for the future, and have maintained they were only legally married to their previous partners while together.

In an April 2024 podcast episode, Amy shared that she and her partner have fully committed to each other. She explained they’ve both expressed a desire to spend their lives together, wanting a true life partner and enjoying simply being together, including sharing mornings and nights.

We’re still working through the idea of marriage,” she said. “We haven’t made a final decision about getting married yet.

Now that Amy and T.J. have successfully navigated marriage, here’s a look back at their highly publicized relationship.

Amy Robach joined ABC’s morning show in 2012 and later became the host of what followed Good Morning America. This happened after the Pandemic: What You Need to Know series was rebranded as GMA3: What You Need to Know.

T.J. Holmes joined ABC News in 2014 and quickly became close with Amy Robach. He was later chosen to be her co-host.

Robach told People magazine that she was the perfect person to ask about this, explaining they’d been hoping to collaborate for the past five years.

Describing his connection with Holmes, the actor explained they have incredible chemistry – almost like brothers. They anticipate each other and work together seamlessly, which he finds amazing. He emphasized the deep trust they share, something rare on a film set. He knows he can always rely on Holmes, and vice versa, and that’s what matters most.

Robach mentioned she and her husband, Andrew Shue, used to frequently hang out with Holmes and his wife, Marilee Fiebig, often going on double dates together.

George Stephanopoulos, Amy Robach, and T.J. Holmes all participated in the United New York City Half Marathon. Holmes revealed on GMA3 that Robach was the one who encouraged him to join her in the race.

Robach playfully told her coworker, who had finished the race just before her, that she could tell they were having fun. She then jokingly acknowledged that TJ had outperformed her, saying, “I’m going to say it for you—TJ beat me.”

Holmes modestly concurred.

“We were running together,” he said. “And I ended up a second ahead, officially.”

Holmes and Robach teamed up to run the New York City Marathon again, but this time, Shue didn’t participate.

Robach later shared that she and Shue were already separated, but she hadn’t announced it publicly yet. However, she wasn’t actively concealing the separation either.

I had been going through a divorce, and everyone close to me knew about it,” she shared on her podcast, Amy and T.J. “I stopped wearing my wedding ring in early August, so it was pretty obvious something was happening. T.J. is more private, though, and preferred to keep it to himself.”

The news anchors unexpectedly became the focus of public attention when the Daily Mail published photos and videos showing them spending time together. These images, which included a dinner in New York City and a trip upstate, were taken while both anchors were still married to other people.

After news of their reported relationship became public, the anchors of GMA3 both closed their Instagram accounts. Shue also deleted all pictures of Robach from his own Instagram profile.

When Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes came back to work on December 1st, sources said they appeared to be a couple when they arrived together.

And the following day, the GMA3 hosts alluded to the drama that was percolating behind the scenes.

Holmes playfully lamented during the show that it was Friday. He said he’d been having such a good week, he wished it could just continue indefinitely.

Their time together ultimately ended quickly when they were temporarily removed from their duties while the company investigated their relationship.

In a memo to staff on December 12th, ABC News president Kim Godwin acknowledged that ongoing media attention was taking away from the important work of her team. She also announced that GMA3 would be using a rotating schedule of anchors for now.

Godwin added that he hopes we’ll keep concentrating on our strengths, and he expressed how incredibly proud he is of everyone’s dedication and professionalism.

Holmes filed for divorce from Fiebig after nearly 13 years of marriage.

Holmes and Robach were separated privately for a while before going public, and they share a 10-year-old daughter named Sabine. Holmes explained he didn’t immediately share news of their relationship because he was still dealing with the complexities of his separation and its impact on his family.

“My daughter, I mean she’s 10,” Holmes explained in the debut episode of the Amy & T.J. podcast. “I was still trying to get her adjusted to her new reality of her parents not being together.”

Holmes shared that he hadn’t even had a chance to tell his mother about his breakup with Fiebig before news of his relationship with Robach became public.

He wondered why he was even considering bringing this up to a network executive. That’s what they were thinking at the time, and looking back, they admitted they probably made a mistake.

Katie Holmes and her ex-husband, Bobby Fiebig, officially ended their divorce in October 2023, following criticism from Holmes regarding his public new relationship.

ABC News confirmed that Robach and Holmes had exited the company in a Jan. 27 statement.

Following discussions with Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes regarding their future, ABC News and both individuals have mutually agreed to part ways. The network acknowledges their years of service and appreciates their work.

Before publicly announcing their relationship, the couple was seen together multiple times during the holidays. They were spotted at the Atlanta airport with Holmes embracing Amy as they handled their luggage, and later shared a passionate kiss in Miami over New Year’s, seemingly confirming their romance.

Separated since the previous summer, Robach and Shue’s divorce was finalized.

Robach and her husband both remarried in February 2010. This was the second marriage for each of them; he is known for his role on Melrose Place.

Ginger Robach was married to Tim McIntosh for twelve years, from 1996 to 2008, and they have two daughters together, Ava and Analise. Mark Shue has three sons – Nate, Aidan, and Wyatt – from his previous marriage to Jennifer Hageney. In 2021, Robach and Shue co-wrote a children’s book called Better Together! which focuses on the experience of combining families.

After nearly a year of dating privately, the couple finally confirmed their relationship on Instagram.

On October 23rd, Holmes shared photos of himself and Robach looking affectionate while attending a University of Arkansas Razorbacks game at his former college.

Robach posted pictures from the event on Instagram, including a photo of the reserved seat signs.

“Hog for a night,” the University of Georgia alum captioned the post. “Dawg for life “#truelove.”

Oh my gosh, you guys, I was losing it when I saw Robach and Holmes finally make their red carpet debut as a couple at Jingle Ball! It was everything I hoped for and more – they just looked so happy together, officially celebrating the holidays as a couple! I’ve been following their story for ages, and seeing them there together felt like a dream come true!

For the concert, Robach chose a short, black leather dress without straps, and Holmes wore a black velvet tuxedo without a tie. The couple were affectionate and openly displayed their feelings for each other while posing for pictures. Robach also shared a video of Holmes jokingly putting a stuffed animal on her chest, which made her laugh.

Amy and T.J. enjoyed a special date night only four days before their new iHeartRadio podcast, also named Amy & T.J., was set to launch.

Robach and Holmes addressed the controversy and opened up about their relationship in the first episode of their new podcast, Amy & T.J.

Just to clarify, the public found out we were in a relationship, but everyone assumed we were having an affair—that we were cheating on our partners. That wasn’t true, though. The strange thing is, both of us were already in the process of getting divorced when those photos were taken and the story came out.

The couple also shared how the scandal affected them personally. Amy Robach described rushing to Daniel Holmes’ apartment after he texted her saying he didn’t want to get out of bed, a sentiment she understood all too well.

She wondered who still had her back, who would support her, and if she’d ever work again. She also questioned whether people would believe the truth or the stories that had been spread. She said going through all of that was difficult, but she felt grateful to have the support of those around her.

News broke on the same day their exes started a new podcast that Shue and Fiebig are now a couple.

I’ve been so happy to see Amy and T.J. out and about together! They’ve made a few public appearances recently, and it’s really sweet seeing them blending their families. I especially loved seeing them at the Z100 Jingle Ball with Amy’s daughter, Annalise, and T.J.’s daughter, Sabine. It’s clear they both want to include their kids from their previous marriages – Amy was previously married to Tim McIntosh, and T.J. to Marilee Fiebig – and that makes me really root for them!

After months of speculation, the couple confirmed they were engaged.

Amy announced on their podcast, Amy & T.J., that she and T.J. are engaged. She shared they’ve been engaged for about a month.

T.J. joked they were announcing the news on their podcast so it could be on their terms.

He explained they wanted to share the news directly with everyone, learning from past experiences with how they handled similar situations. “We realized it’s important to tell you ourselves first,” he said.
