André, a famously unconventional thinker and advertising rebel, approaches the topic of his own mortality in his own unique way: with humor and honesty, he starts exploring life’s biggest questions through the lens of a camera. Working closely with director Tony Benna, the film reveals André’s inner life – his stories, anxieties, beliefs, and playful imagination – using a blend of real footage and imaginative stop-motion animation. I’m so excited about this project! It’s a really cool collaboration between André and director Tony Benna. They’ve taken André’s stories and thoughts and turned them into amazing stop-motion animation. It really captures how he looks at life – all the tough stuff and the good stuff – in his own unique way. Honestly, ‘ANDRÉ IS AN IDIOT’ is just a fantastic celebration of being strong, finding humor in everything (even when it’s a little off-color!), and really living life to the fullest, right up to the very end.
