Andy Richter thinks Whitney Leavitt‘s Dancing With the Stars elimination was a total misstep.
Following the elimination of a star from Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and her partner, Mark Ballas, on November 18th, she performed a paso doble as a response.
Honestly, when Whitney got eliminated, I was completely shocked! I mean, she’s such an incredible dancer. It just didn’t make any sense to me, especially considering all the people who were complaining about my technique. If they wanted perfect dancing so badly, why wouldn’t she have stayed? It felt totally unfair, like they were making up their minds based on something other than the dance itself.
Though he’s aware fans aren’t just tapping into talent when they vote.
There’s a lot of online chatter and drama surrounding the show,” the 59-year-old contestant explained, adding that it helps him gauge how viewers are reacting and who they’re voting for. “I’ve noticed people constantly saying things like ‘Whitney needs to be eliminated,’ and I just don’t understand why.”

Following the removal of a star from Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and her partner, Mark Ballas, from season 34 on November 18th, Richter performed a paso doble in support of her.
The TV personality told Entertainment Weekly that Whitney’s elimination was shocking. They questioned how she could be sent home, considering her skill as a dancer, especially given the criticism they received for not being technically perfect. It didn’t make sense to them that those same people would then vote off a strong dancer like Whitney based on technical ability.

As a longtime observer of these shows, I’ve noticed there’s always a lot of chatter online – almost like a whole separate drama unfolding alongside the competition! Honestly, it’s a really good way to get a sense of how the audience is reacting and who they’re voting for. I’ve been seeing comments for ages now, things like ‘Whitney needs to be eliminated,’ and I just don’t get it! It’s surprising to see those opinions and makes you wonder what’s driving them.
He believes the 32-year-old is incredibly attractive, describing her as one of the kindest and most optimistic people on Dancing with the Stars.

While Andy was shocked, Whitney and Mark knew they’d be two-stepping out of the competition.
After the semi-finals, the professional dancer told TopMob News’ Will Marfuggi, ‘We just knew something was off. We could feel it.’
Echoed Whitney, “We had a gut feeling it was us.”
But that doesn’t mean it hurts any less.
She explained to TopMob that working on the show created strong, lasting friendships with the cast, crew, and especially Mark. Because you spend so much time with these people daily, leaving feels like a real loss. While she’s sad to go, she’s incredibly grateful for the experience.
The five remaining celebrities – Alix Earle, Robert Irwin, Elaine Hendrix, Dylan Efron, and Jordan Chiles – all feel the same way. As they get ready to compete for the Mirrorball trophy, let’s remember their journey throughout this season…
