Anna Camp is feeling aca-amazing in her new life.
The actress from *Pitch Perfect*, who revealed she’s dating Jade Whipkey in May, recently opened up about being true to herself.
In a recent interview with *Out Magazine*, Anna shared a powerful message: it’s never too late to be your authentic self. She explained that letting go of the protective facade she’d built to cope with life’s challenges taught her she had been simply surviving, not truly living. Now, she feels she’s finally becoming her true self and embracing a vibrant, fulfilling life.
She’s pleased with how things have gone, but the 43-year-old also shared that she’s still working through some feelings of guilt.
This year, my biggest personal challenge was coming to terms with coming out in my 40s. It brought up a lot of mixed feelings – I felt guilty for not living authentically sooner, but also excited to finally be free from the expectations of society and how I was raised.
The actress from *You* had a strong support network throughout her personal life. She was married to Skylar Astin, her *Pitch Perfect* co-star, from 2016 to 2019, and previously to Michael Mosely from 2010 to 2013.
Honestly, getting through it wouldn’t have been possible without my amazing friends and family being there for me. But it was also incredibly important to connect with other people in the queer community who truly understood what I was going through. Their support meant everything.
I’ve been so thrilled to watch Anna live authentically, and seeing her with Jade has been amazing! They officially stepped out as a couple in June at the premiere of *Bride Hard*, and honestly, it was such a sweet moment. They were totally beaming and couldn’t keep their hands off each other while posing for pictures – it was clear how happy they are together!
Just a month before, Anna and her 24-year-old partner had a low-key first date. The next day, they were seen showing affection for each other while out in Los Angeles.
On May 13th, a stylist shared a glowing tribute to Anna on Instagram Stories. Posting a photo of Anna smiling at dinner, the stylist described her smile as poetic, her eyes as beautiful as roses, and her laugh as joyful and dance-worthy.

The Dance Moms alum didn’t give it a second thought when she came out in a 2021 Instagram story.
She shared with *People* magazine in October 2023 that she came out at age 17, but didn’t fully grasp the significance of that moment. She also admitted she didn’t understand why it was considered frightening.
She explained that while she received a lot of support and acceptance, she also faced negativity and lost some things along the way – including people and fans. But she doesn’t regret it, saying she’s staying true to herself, and that’s what matters most.
While the “Flowers” singer was never a big fan of labels, she came out as pansexual in 2016.
She shared with *Variety* in October 2016 that she’d spent her life unsure about her gender and sexuality. She’d always disliked the label ‘bisexual’ because it felt limiting, and she doesn’t focus on whether someone is male or female.
Honestly, looking back, things like my pasties never felt overtly sexual to *me*. I think I became aware of those kinds of things pretty early – around fifth or sixth grade, actually. And you know what? My first real relationship was with a girl. It was a really formative experience for me, and I’ve always been open about it.
Telling his traditionally religious family he was gay was a turning point for Matt, beginning a fresh chapter in his life.
Sharing the news with his family was a major turning point, according to actor Matt Bomer, who is married to Simon Halls and has three children. He previously told *OUT Magazine* that he sees his life as clearly divided into ‘before’ and ‘after’ telling his parents, with a significant difference in the choices he made and how he lived his life before and after coming out. He described the change as ‘night and day’.
The singer of “Good Luck, Babe!” shared that she doesn’t always feel as self-assured as she appears, and growing up in the Midwest greatly influenced that.
I used to carry around some real fear regarding openly gay men, and it stemmed from what I was taught growing up. It eventually hit me – a lot of the negativity isn’t about *who* they are, but the fact that a confident, expressive presentation can be seen as ‘feminine,’ and unfortunately, some people just have issues with powerful women. It was a pretty shocking realization, honestly – a real ‘aha’ moment about the root of so much prejudice.
She explained that she’s had to challenge a lot of previously held beliefs, and she’s still working through some confusion, which is why she sometimes feels uneasy about being gay. She admits she doesn’t understand why she struggles with it – logically, she shouldn’t – but recognizes she needs to accept her feelings as they are.
Former *Bachelorette* contestant revealed on *The View* that she is engaged to comedian Robby Hoffman, whom she married in January 2025.
She revealed in August 2023 that she’s been dating a woman, explaining she’d kept it quiet because it felt like a significant and important thing to share.
She explained that she’d always had a feeling deep down, but it gradually became stronger. She hadn’t realized she should listen to it, and admitting that felt shameful at first. She had to understand where that shame was coming from and work through it.
The actress known for her role in *Mean Girls* publicly came out as a lesbian in January 2024 while appearing on *Saturday Night Live*. She had previously identified as bisexual, and her friends supported her in making this announcement.
She later told *Billboard* that she suddenly found herself surrounded by nonbinary, transgender, and lesbian friends. Being with them made her realize, ‘I feel so happy, and I want to identify as a lesbian when I’m with you all.’
The former late-night host officially came out as queer on the last day of Pride month in 2024.
She announced on Instagram in June 2024, on the final day of Pride Month, that she is queer. She shared the news with a photo of herself wearing a tank top with the word ‘Queer’ on it – a reveal that surprised no one, she joked.
Oh my gosh, she just *gets* me! It’s like she’s speaking directly to my soul when she says ‘Be proud of who you are, little babies!’ Seriously, I AM proud, and she just *knows* it! And honestly? The way she said she *can’t wait* to be judged for something else? It’s so empowering! She’s just… amazing. I feel so seen!
The former Disney Channel star was hesitant to publicly share that she is queer before she did so.
She revealed to *Gay Times* in May 2021 that she’d subtly alluded to her sexuality for years, but was hesitant to be direct about it. She explained that a lyric video she released last year for her song ‘We Belong’ featured animated drawings of couples falling in love, but it only showed heterosexual couples, which felt strange to her.
After the song was released, many people interpreted it as a celebration of LGBTQ+ identity, and I suddenly felt like people thought I was pretending to be part of the community for attention. I addressed it on Instagram Live, explaining that I identify as queer, though I hadn’t explicitly said so before, and that it’s an important part of my identity that I want to express in my music.
The “Heart Attack” singer came out as nonbinary in a 2021 Instagram post.
She wrote that each new day is a fresh chance to become the person you aspire to be. She shared that she’s grown up with the public watching, experiencing both her triumphs and struggles. She also felt a responsibility to those who followed her journey, knowing she was living her life in the public eye.
I’m excited to share an important part of my journey with you all. I’m non-binary and will be using they/them pronouns going forward, though I now use she/her pronouns. This decision comes after a lot of personal growth and self-discovery. I’m still learning about myself, and I don’t pretend to have all the answers. Sharing this feels very personal and makes me feel vulnerable.
Okay, so, I’ve been following Becca Tilley *forever*, and when I found out she was with Hayley Kiyoko back in 2018, I was SO excited! But it was frustrating waiting for her to officially confirm things, you know? It took four years for her to really talk about it publicly, and she said it felt strange when everyone finally knew. But honestly, seeing her finally share that part of her life? It was amazing and clearly meant so much to a lot of people, and it makes me so happy for them both!
She explained that the impact of her story extended far beyond her own relationship and feelings. Knowing she helped others feel comfortable and confident in their own love lives was much more important than any personal fear she faced. She found it incredibly humbling to see comments showing how her experience resonated with people, and it made her realize how meaningful simply loving and sharing that love could be.

He explained to *People* magazine in February 2022 that as he was finalizing his record deal, he was determined to control his own public image. He didn’t want anyone else dictating how he came out. He wanted the freedom to explore the gay scene, go to clubs, meet people, and write authentic love songs based on his own experiences.
Chrishell Stause, who is married to musician G Flip, emphasizes the need to make self-care a priority.
Chrishell, who started dating the Australian singer in 2022, explained to TopMob News that genuine love means prioritizing your partner’s happiness, even if it differs from your own views. She emphasized the importance of staying true to yourself and living life on your own terms, saying, “You only get one life, so don’t try to fit into someone else’s expectations.”
This TikTok creator, who is openly gay and attended an all-boys school, uses his account to inspire others to embrace their true selves.
Chris explained to TopMob News in October 2022 that his identity is likely to be a topic of discussion, depending on who he’s talking to. He sees using his platform as a way to challenge those perceptions and make his identity seem more ordinary.
