Anora Begins – A Tale of Transformation
The narrative unfolds with Madison’s character, Ani, a dancer from Brooklyn, crossing paths with Ivan (Eydelshteyn), a man of privilege due to his father’s gangster connections. Ivan lives a life of indulgence and freedom, captivating Ani as they embark on spending quality time together. Delighted by the allure of luxury, their bond deepens to the point where they exchange vows in a spontaneous Vegas wedding, marking a significant turn in both of their lives.
Following their wedding, Ani retires from the dance world, and the newlyweds begin planning their shared future. Yet, Ivan’s family disapproves of the marriage and seeks to have it declared null and void.
Verdict on Anora
Recap
The film revolves around a dancer who enters into matrimony with the son of a Russian mob boss. Yet, his family pushes for the annulment of the marriage, leading to turmoil among all parties involved.
Best Parts
In a more casual, easier-to-understand tone, this sentence could be rephrased as follows:
“The toughest character in the film, Ani, causes problems for the gangster, and this is the most humorous aspect of the movie.
Worst Parts
The film that won Best Picture leaves me puzzled. To me, it seems like a chaotic mix of shouting and screaming, with little plot development. The romantic aspect appeared dull and reminiscent of the fleeting romance of unrefined teenagers. Frankly, I found nothing intriguing about this movie. Furthermore, its length is excessive considering the simplicity of the story it tries to convey.
Final Thoughts –Anora is a lot a screaming, shouting and not much happening.
