Ansel Elgort has a new baby driver.
Ansel Elgort, known for his role in Baby Driver, is now a father! People magazine has confirmed the arrival of his first child.
The actor and his partner were seen with their baby in New York City on January 13th, marking the first time they’ve been publicly seen as a family. He carried the baby in a carrier on his chest.
Ansel carried his baby, who was wearing a cute teddy bear outfit, while they strolled through New York City and took a subway ride together.
This news follows a period where Ansel Elgort largely stayed out of the public eye. This came after a woman named Gabby accused him of sexual assault, which he denied. However, he started appearing in public more often throughout 2025.
Although Ansel Elgort’s most recent major movie role was in the 2021 film West Side Story, he continued working on television as Jake Adelstein in the HBO Max series Tokyo Vice, which lasted for two seasons. He’s recently returned to performing on stage as well.
Last November, Ansel began his professional dance career in the rock ballet Quadrophenia, a performance based on the iconic album by The Who.
Ansel played the lead role, embodying a powerful, commanding presence – something Pete Townshend, the singer from The Who, was excited to see the actor portray.
The musician expressed excitement about Ansel joining the production of Quadrophenia before its first performance in New York City. They added that the energy of Rock ‘n’ Roll isn’t limited to one generation, but appeals to people of all ages.
Aside from his stage performances, the 31-year-old—who previously dated ballerina Violetta Komyshan—has been spending time with longtime friends, such as John Green, the author of The Fault in Our Stars.

He actually showed us his breakfast skills in December – can you believe it?! He said he’s practicing because he’s going to play Count Hubert de Givenchy in Dinner With Audrey, and honestly, if he can make breakfast like that, I’m sure he’ll be perfect as Count de Givenchy! I’m so excited for this role, and for all his culinary adventures!
