Apple TV’s Longest-Running Sci-Fi Show Jumps To Another Decade In Thrilling New Images (EXCLUSIVE)

Apple TV’s sci-fi dominance continues with new images from For All Mankind season 5.

The popular show is set in a world where the Soviet Union wins the space race by landing on the Moon before the United States, drastically altering history. Each season jumps forward in time: season one covers the late 1960s and early 1970s, season two the 1980s, season three the 1990s, season four the 2000s, and the current season, season five, takes place in the 2010s.

ScreenRant is giving fans a first look at season 5 of For All Mankind with four exclusive images. The photos feature Celia Boyd (Mireille Enos) looking focused, Alex Poletov Baldwin (Sean Kaufman) suited up on the Martian surface, Ed Baldwin (Joel Kinnaman) with a serious expression, and Aleida Rosales (Coral Peña) looking surprised. You can see the images below.

Kinnaman has been with For All Mankind since it began. Enos and Kaufman are joining the show as main cast members for season 5. Though Aleida’s character first appeared in season 1, Peña took on the role in season 2 when the character was aged up to reflect the show’s time jump.

The show is known for following characters over many years while also introducing new ones, and season 5 continues this trend. Returning cast members include Edi Gathegi as Dev Ayesa, Kelly Baldwin played by Cynthy Wu, Toby Kebbell as Miles Dale, and Wrenn Schmidt as Margo Madison.

As the new season begins, For All Mankind has become Apple TV+’s longest-running science fiction show. Even though it has achieved this and boasts a 92% approval rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, many still consider it less recognized than other sci-fi series on the platform like Severance, Silo, and Pluribus. Silo will conclude after its fourth season, and seasons three of Severance and two of Pluribus are currently being developed.

Apple TV is expanding its hit show For All Mankind with a new spinoff called Star City, officially making it a full franchise. While For All Mankind primarily tells the story from an American point of view, Star City will focus more on the Soviet side. The new spinoff premieres on May 29, just two months after season 5 of For All Mankind begins on March 27.
