Arc Raiders Expedition: Release date, rewards and what to expect

Arc Raiders players can expect the Expedition update to launch in mid-December. After nearly two months of gathering resources and preparing for a fresh start during the holidays, the launch is just around the corner.

Expeditions in Arc Raiders are designed to let you start fresh. Once an Expedition is over, you can begin a new character from level one, losing all your current gear and abilities. They become available at level 20.

Sending your Raider on an Expedition unlocks permanent bonuses that apply to your entire account, so you’ll keep them for every future Expedition.

Here is a rundown of the Expedition departure window and what you can prepare for:

Arc Raiders Expedition departure date

The first Expedition for Arc Raiders will open for departure on 17th December 2025.

You have until December 22nd, 2025, to let us know if you want your Raider to leave. All departures will happen together on that same day.

After you send a Raider on a mission, you won’t be able to get back any of the items they collected, the equipment they carried, or their special abilities. This means you’ll lose everything they’d unlocked – their skill tree, level, storage, workshop improvements, crafting skills, and any blueprints they knew. It’s like starting a new game, but you won’t have to play through the initial tutorial again.

You have until December 16th, 2025, to provide your Raider with the necessary caravan and expedition supplies. If you miss this deadline, you’ll need to wait until the next opportunity, which will be within eight weeks after December 22nd, 2025.

Arc Raiders Expedition rewards

If you choose to depart, you will get the following rewards:

  • The Patchwork Raider outfit
  • Scrappy Janitor Cap
  • Expeditions Indicator icon
  • Skill points (1 Skill point per 1 million stash/coin value)
  • +12 Stash space
  • 10% repair buff (temporary)
  • 5% XP boost (temporary)
  • 6% more materials from Scrappy (temporary)

Most of the rewards you earn will last forever on your account. However, the repair bonus, experience boost, and extra Scrappy materials are temporary. They’ll disappear at the end of the next Expedition if you keep your Raider around instead of letting them leave.

These rewards won’t drastically alter your gameplay or give you a competitive advantage, but they’re meaningful and will add up noticeably over time as you complete more Expeditions.

The Skill points you get depend on the total value of items you’re storing and the Coins your Raider has. If you’re running low on stash space, selling items can increase your total value and help you earn more Skill points.
