Embark Studios has announced that the positive reception to their game, ARC Raiders, is providing the financial stability they need to continue operating and developing games. This is welcome news for the studio, especially given the challenging environment for game developers right now.
The huge success of Embark’s 2025 dystopian shooter has secured the company’s future, providing both financial security and long-term stability, according to CEO Patrick Söderlund in an interview with IGN. Gamers are clearly captivated by the game’s addictive gameplay.
The revenue from ARC Raiders is providing long-term financial stability and job security for our team. We’re expanding the studio, bringing on new hires, and are committed to developing both ARC Raiders and THE FINALS further.
So, our latest game really took off, and it’s awesome because it’s letting us do so much more! Basically, the money we’ve made means we can fully fund the two new games we’ve been working on in secret, and keep pushing out cool new stuff for ARC Raiders – that’s all laid out in our plans for 2026. What’s really great is that we can now pay our team really well with competitive salaries and bonuses, and we’re even hiring more people to help us grow the studio. It’s a really exciting time!
We’re really relieved and happy with how the game is doing, and we’re grateful for all the support from players who have purchased it. This success means we can now offer our team competitive pay and bonuses – they’ve worked incredibly hard and deserve to be well-compensated.
Söderlund didn’t share specific profit figures for the game’s success, but experts believe it’s been very profitable when considering its sales and development costs.
After addressing some initial issues and adding a lot of exciting new content, ARC Raiders is off to a strong start in the new year. It’s expected to be a key part of Embark and Nexon’s plans for the future, starting in 2026.
