As a big fan of classic arcade games, I’m really excited to hear that Rack ‘Em Up is coming to consoles! Hamster announced that Arcade Archives 2 Rack ‘Em Up will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Switch 2, and the original Arcade Archives Rack ‘Em Up will be on PlayStation 4 and Switch on June 4th. The newer version will be $9.99, while the original is a bit cheaper at $7.99. And the best part? If you already have the original, you can upgrade to the Arcade Archives 2 version for just $2.99!

Here is an overview of the game, via Hamster:

Recreating the popular game of pool!

Rack ‘Em Up is a sports game released by Konami in 1987.

This game lets you play pool using either Nine-Ball or Rotation rules. You can easily see the position of all the balls on the 3D screen, which is a helpful feature. It’s designed to be fun for players of all ages.

The Arcade Archives series aims to recreate classic arcade games exactly as they were originally played, focusing on authenticity.

Original Mode enhances these classic games with helpful features like adjustable difficulty, display options, customizable controls, quick save slots, and even an undo button. Certain games also let you simulate the look of old-style CRT televisions for a retro feel. Plus, Hi Score and Caravan Modes let you compete globally on online leaderboards.

Arcade Archives 2 series introduces a brand-new mode called Time Attack Mode, in addition to the Original Mode, Hi Score Mode, and Caravan Mode from Arcade Archives. Time Attack Mode focuses on how quickly you can complete the game, regardless of the score you achieve.

Plus, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) technology makes the game play even more smoothly and accurately, bringing you closer to the feeling of playing the original arcade game.

Please enjoy these iconic arcade games that defined an era with the Arcade Archives series!
