Are Chloe Kim and Myles Garrett Engaged? The Truth

Chloe Kim may have left the 2026 Olympics with new jewelry.

Although a photo of her boyfriend, NFL player Myles Garrett, appeared to show him proposing in Italy, it was just a playful moment – he was actually presenting her with a new silver medal, not an engagement ring.

Chloe warned people not to believe it, saying, “It’s not real,” during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on February 26th.

The snowboarder quickly noticed a couple of problems with the image, which was probably created by AI. First, the photo shows Chloe already wearing a ring on her left hand. Second, Myles—who Chloe was first linked to in May 2025—is wearing sunglasses in the picture.

After all, she said, “I don’t want my man to propose to me with sunglasses on.”

So, how did the 25-year-old find out about her supposed engagement? Apparently, fellow Olympic athlete Lindsey Vonn was fooled by the fake picture.

Chloe started by saying she hoped her friend wouldn’t be upset with her for telling this story. Apparently, her friend had texted her congratulations, and Chloe responded by thanking her but pointing out she’d already been congratulated for winning a medal. Her friend then clarified she was congratulating Chloe on her engagement, which Chloe found completely unexpected.

That’s when she searched online for “Chloe Kim engaged” and discovered that Myles had secretly proposed to her while she wasn’t paying attention.

Thankfully, other people in the three-time medalist’s life weren’t as easily fooled.

For Hilary, the moment was almost more nerve-wracking than her gold medal game.

I know it sounds a little wild, but honestly, it felt right for us to share that moment before the gold medal game. The Olympics brought us together, and it was just incredibly special to celebrate our connection then. It felt like everything had come full circle.

My mom called me really excited, saying she’d seen that AI-generated picture of me getting a marriage proposal. She immediately said the outfit I was wearing in the picture wasn’t something I’d ever choose myself.

Jimmy Kimmel jokingly wondered if the large diamond in the staged engagement photo was big enough for Olympic gymnast Chloe, after asking when Myles might propose.

Chloe enthusiastically agreed. She believes getting engaged is wonderful, and that if you’re with the right person, the proposal itself doesn’t matter – it could even be with a simple Ring Pop, she said.

Although Chloe didn’t get engaged at the Olympics, several of her Team USA teammates did! Skier Breezy Johnson received a proposal from her boyfriend while they were in Italy, and hockey player Hilary Knight proposed to fellow Olympian Brittany Bowe.

For Hilary, the moment was almost more nerve-wracking than her gold medal game.

It might sound a little unusual, but it felt right to us to do it before the championship game,” Hilary explained to NBC News. “The Olympics brought us together, and it was a really meaningful moment for both of us.”

Plus, she added, “To cap it all off with the gold medal is awesome.”
