Arkham’s top 5 doxed crypto hodlers own $3.5B, but 35% is untouchable

Five prominent crypto investors, whose wallet addresses are publicly available, collectively possess approximately $3.5 billion worth of cryptocurrencies, as indicated by Arkham’s blockchain analytics platform.

However, due to lost passwords and private keys, a large chunk of it is inaccessible.

On April 15, the on-chain intelligence platform unveiled an upgraded dashboard, shedding light on the cryptocurrency holdings of some wealthy individuals in the crypto world, such as Tron’s Justin Sun and Ethereum’s Vitalik Buterin.

Five individuals with the most cryptocurrencies in the given list collectively hold approximately $3.47 billion worth of digital assets, as indicated by the data. Yet, around $1.21 billion, or 35%, of this amount is reportedly unable to be accessed.

Arkham’s crypto top five

Justin Sun leads the pack with an estimated $1.06 billion in his cryptocurrency account. A significant portion of his wealth, approximately $275 million, is invested in his own stablecoin, Decentralized USD (USDD). Additionally, he holds around $237 million worth of Tron’s native token, TRX.

Rain Lohmus, the founder of Estonia’s LHV Bank and ranked second on Arkham’s list with a value of $769 million in Ether, has encountered an issue. Reports from November indicate that he is unable to reach his private key, making this substantial crypto fortune inaccessible.

Vitalik Buteran, one of Ethereum‘s codifiers, ranks third among the wealthiest, holding a wallet brimming with approximately $757 million. A large chunk of this fortune is in ETH, amounting to around 245,425 tokens.

The list ranks the Bitcoin wallet of ex-Ripple CTO Stefan Thomas as the fourth one. Yet, his estimated $442 million in Bitcoin (BTC) holdings have been identified as unreachable.

In 2011, Thomas unfortunately misplaced the password to unlock the encrypted hard drive containing information about over 7,000 Bitcoins that he owned.

In October, crypto recovery firm Unciphered offered to unlock the IronKey hard drive.

James Fickel, a crypto investor, holds about $436 million in digital assets as per Arkham’s latest estimation.

Some other well-known crypto wallets among the top ten include Patricio Worthalter, an early adopter who manages approximately $219 million, predominantly in Ethereum. Additionally, Winslow Strong, a General Partner at Cluster Capital, is reported to have around $27.5 million worth of digital assets.

The dashboard presents clear information for users, showing tagged public wallets, the present amount and past transaction history of their Arkham tokens, an analysis of investments distributed among various blockchains, and records of recent transactions.

Although the given list lacks entries for whale wallets associated with anonymous or pseudonymous owners, like Bitcoin’s creator Satoshi Nakamoto, whose substantial BTC holdings are estimated to be valued in the tens of billions across various addresses, or other prominent crypto figures yet untraceable to a specific wallet address.
