Okay, so in Arknights: Endfield, leveling up my Operators isn’t a straight line. There are multiple times I hit a level cap, and I need special items to push past it. The biggest hurdle so far has been hitting level 60. Getting the resources needed to break that cap is way harder than it was for the earlier levels, like 20 and 40. It’s a real grind!
This guide explains how to collect the resources needed to raise your Arknights: Endfield operators from level 60 to the new level cap of 80.
Protosets
Protosets are a key item used to upgrade characters to the E3 and E4 tiers, and you’ll need 24 of them per character. They’re harder to find than the colored Bolete resources.
There are multiple sources for Protosets:
- Story missions, side missions, and other quests
- Randomly through opening chests while exploring and gathering
- Rewards for the completion of limited-time events
- Acquisition Center: AIC Trading
- Completion of Protocol Space: Promotions
The best way to get Protosets is through this method, though it uses up a lot of Sanity. Look for ‘Protocol Space: Promotions’ in The Hub – choosing Option B at Level 3 will give you 8 Protosets.

Ruby Bolete
To upgrade characters to E3, you’ll need 5 Ruby Boletes. These can be obtained from two different sources.
- Rare Gathering Sites at Jingyu Valley in Wuling
- Ruby Bolete Mycelia cultivation in the Growth Chamber at OMV Dijiang
You can find Ruby Bolete Rare Growths near the Tele-Protocol Point by the Treadway. The first one is a short walk southwest of the TP Point. The second is just across the bridge, directly west of it. After crossing, follow the riverbank south to locate it.
You’ll find 10 Ruby Boletes at each location when you first visit. After that, you can collect 1 more Ruby Bolete from each location every day.

This covers everything you need to know about farming Protosets and Ruby Boletes to reach level 60 and beyond in Arknights: Endfield.
