California residents recently got a bear of a surprise.
Following the discovery of a teddy bear appearing to be adorned with what seemed like human skin, situated outside a convenience store in Victorville, California on July 13, the authorities had to launch an investigation. However, upon further examination, they found that there was no basis for alarm.
The AMPM convenience store contacted the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department about an item that appeared to be soiled with human remains, as reported by ABC News. Upon arrival at the scene, where a toy bear was found lying outside the store on the ground, the authorities requested the coroner’s office to examine and analyze the object’s composition, according to their report.
Instead, the officials found through their investigation that there was no cause for worry. In reality, the teddy bear was crafted from latex by artist Robert Kelly, based in South Carolina.
The specialist in horror effects and haunted environments, who was interviewed by ABC News, verified that he dispatched one of his “teddy bear replicas of human skin” to a client residing in Victorville during the past week.
We attempted to contact the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department for a response, but they have yet to get back to us.
Although Kelly wasn’t aware that his invention would create such a commotion, he acknowledged that the situation isn’t entirely negative for him.

In conversation with ABC News on July 13, Kelly expressed, “I must admit, it’s hard to deny that I’m enjoying it somewhat.” Being an independent artist, she’s familiar with the struggles of a ‘starving artist.’ Therefore, some attention, even if she can’t endorse everything, is generally beneficial.
Regarding whether his customer meant to stir up panic in their locality, Kelly isn’t completely certain.
The artist clarified that they weren’t sure whether the man had violated any laws or if it was merely a joke, but either way, it seemed like he had certainly stirred up quite a few people.
