Assassin’s Creed Shadows Is Getting One Last Update Soon

Ubisoft has announced one last update is coming for Assassin’s Creed Shadows next week. Since the game launched last year, Ubisoft has consistently added new content and updates. However, those updates have become less frequent recently, and now Ubisoft confirms this final patch will be the last for AC Shadows.

The final update for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, version 1.1.11, will be released next week on June 16th. While not unexpected – Ubisoft had announced they would be reducing support for the game in early 2026 – this means Assassin’s Creed Shadows will receive significantly less post-launch support than other games in the Assassin’s Creed series, which is a noticeable change.

Ubisoft hasn’t officially detailed what the new Assassin’s Creed update will include, but the game’s director, Simon Lemay-Comtois, hinted at a “black tide” appearing in the game. This suggests the update might add content related to the upcoming Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced to Assassin’s Creed Shadows before the remake launches next month.

So, it sounds like the big reason Ubisoft is ending support for Assassin’s Creed Shadows this month is because they’re really focusing on Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced. It’s not a brand new game, it’s a remake, but Ubisoft is pushing it hard – they’re promoting it just as much as any of the main Assassin’s Creed games. Honestly, it’s pretty clear Black Flag Resynced is a huge deal for them right now, and they want to get it out there, which is why they’re wrapping things up with Shadows first.
