I’ve been watching the continued success of *Attack on Titan*, and it’s amazing to see how popular it remains even four years after the manga finished. This year is a big one – it’s the 16th anniversary of its debut in Bessatsu Shounen Magazine, and they’ve announced a special project to celebrate. Anniversaries for this series often mean something new for fans, and last year’s 15th anniversary was no different – we got things like the beautiful *FLY* artbook. It’s a story that really resonated with a lot of people, and it’s clearly had a huge impact – they even gave it the first-ever Global Impact Award at the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards on May 25th.
Only a few manga series – just 23 in history – have ever sold over 100 million copies, and *Attack on Titan* is among them, with 140 million copies sold to date, demonstrating its incredible success. The anime concluded its run in 2023, and a special edition Blu-ray of Season 4 will be released on November 11, 2025. While the anime’s story is finished, the series continues to gain attention through various projects, and this latest one may be the most significant yet. *Attack on Titan* is releasing a new manga specifically to promote a brand partnership.
Shiseido, a popular Japanese skincare company, teamed up with a well-known manga for their new “Empower Your Skin” campaign. Starting September 16, 2025, the collaboration will feature a new manga series with chapters released monthly for four months. The manga itself focuses on skincare issues commonly experienced by men.
Attack on Titan Set to Release a Four-Month Manga Series to Promote the Brand

The show features characters chatting about common skin problems and offering ways to deal with them, all while metaphorically breaking down the “walls” that represent those issues. The first installment has been released in Japanese, with Oricon making an English version available for international viewers. In one scene, Levi encourages Eren to address his own skin concerns before battling the Titans.
Okay, so it’s wild! They’re explaining to Eren that he needs to fight off… his own skin oil! Apparently, men’s skin gets super dry, and this oil is attacking him like a bunch of Titans! I’m so hyped for the next episode, which is coming in October and will probably bring back more characters we already love. The art is pretty simple, but it definitely has a vibe similar to the original manga, though they haven’t revealed who the artist is yet. What makes it even cooler is that this whole thing is happening during the manga’s 16th anniversary – talk about perfect timing!
You can watch the anime on Crunchyroll and Hulu. The manga is available digitally on Kodansha’s website.
