Apple TV+ has approved a new sci-fi thriller called Liminal, with Louis Leterrier, known for directing Fast X, as the director. The series will star Vanessa Kirby (from Fantastic Four: First Steps) and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Wonder Man), giving them an opportunity to act together before potentially appearing as teammates in future Avengers films like Doomsday or Secret Wars.
The 2013 film Elysium features Matt Damon as Max Da Costa, a man struggling to survive on a ruined Earth while the rich live comfortably on a space station called Elysium. When Max is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, his only hope is to reach Elysium, where medical care is readily available. However, due to his poverty, getting there proves incredibly difficult. The film also stars Sharlto Copley, Jodie Foster, Alice Braga, Diego Luna, and Wagner Moura, all frequent collaborators with the director.
Ever since The Force Awakens came out over ten years ago, people have been optimistic about where the story could go. However, a lot of fans still feel the same way they always have.
Honestly, while I really enjoyed the story and the world, the gameplay didn’t always feel as good as it looked. Getting superpowers is cool at first, but combat got a little repetitive after a while. The stealth parts were better, but overall, the game shines when it’s telling its story, and feels a bit slow when you’re actually playing as the powered character. If you’re a huge fan of the show this game is based on, you absolutely need to play it. But if you’re coming in blind, those gameplay issues might hold you back a little.
Just because a movie makes a lot of money doesn’t always mean it’s considered a classic, and sometimes big hits get overlooked. That happened with Neill Blomkamp’s 2013 sci-fi action film, Elysium. Starring Matt Damon, it’s set in a future where a sick factory worker tries to reach a luxurious space station to save his life. While it earned $286 million, Elysium didn’t quite live up to the buzz surrounding Blomkamp’s earlier film, District 9, and has become something of an underrated sci-fi gem. It’s worth another watch, but unfortunately, it’s leaving streaming services on April 1st, so you only have a week left to see it.
I’m really excited about Spider-Noir! It’s Spider-Man, but reimagined as a detective in a 1930s setting, and it’s honestly one of the coolest takes on the character I’ve seen. I’m hoping the new Prime Video show captures that classic noir feel – it could really bring that whole genre back into the spotlight, which I think is long overdue!

While The Witcher isn’t likely to be hailed as the next Game of Thrones, its adaptation has faced similar struggles to the final season of that show. However, that doesn’t make it a bad series. If you approach The Witcher as its own story – separate from the books, much like its creators did – you can enjoy it as a solid, action-filled fantasy adventure.

This is particularly noticeable in the new “One Life” mode included in the downloadable content. In this mode, players only have one chance to complete the campaign – a single death forces a complete restart. It’s a suitably tough addition, and successfully completing it is incredibly rewarding, offering both great prizes and the satisfaction of a hard-earned victory.
