Apple TV has been consistently releasing popular shows for the past two years, and now they’re adding a new sci-fi action thriller to their collection. What’s even more exciting is that the show will feature two well-known actors from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, marking the first time they’ve worked together on screen.
Apple TV+ has approved a new sci-fi thriller called Liminal, with Louis Leterrier, known for directing Fast X, as the director. The series will star Vanessa Kirby (from Fantastic Four: First Steps) and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Wonder Man), giving them an opportunity to act together before potentially appearing as teammates in future Avengers films like Doomsday or Secret Wars.
Two Marvel Stars Will Bring Another Comics Project To Life

Viewers will recognize Kirby and Abdul-Mateen II from their Marvel roles as Invincible Woman and Wonder Man. Their next project, Liminal, is also based on a comic book – specifically, the AWA series Telepaths, created by J. Michael Straczynski, Steve Epting, Brian Reber, and Sal Cipriano. The original comic gives a strong indication of what the movie will be about.
In the world of Telepaths, about ten percent of people suddenly develop telepathic abilities after a strange electromagnetic event. The story follows the Boston police as they encounter a man who was wrongly imprisoned but becomes a leader for others with these new powers. All they want is to find a safe place to escape the dangers their abilities bring, and the fate of everyone rests on the police and this group of telpaths learning to trust each other.
The six-part comic series starts before a strange magical event involving electrons happens, and when it does, everything immediately falls into chaos. No one anticipates this massive event, which causes buildings to crumble, vehicles to crash, and all systems to fail. If the upcoming movie follows the first issue closely, this event will be a key part of the beginning, potentially shown through flashbacks throughout the story.
Given the skilled people working on it, there’s a lot of excitement surrounding this project. If you’d like to learn more, you can find Telepaths right here.
