Disney Cancels Remake of Beloved Live-Action Movie From MCU Showrunner

Disney+ has cancelled its planned series adaptation of Holes. The show, based on the award-winning novel by Louis Sachar and the 2003 Disney film, was a modern take on the story with a female lead, Hayley (played by Shay Rudolph), sent to a detention camp. Like the original, the plot involved campers being forced to dig holes under the supervision of the warden (Kinnear), but with a new perspective. Walden Media, who made the original movie, was also producing this version.

New Tomb Raider Game Is Doing Something the Franchise Hasn’t Done in Almost 30 Years

I’m really looking forward to Tomb Raider: Catalyst, and it’s not just because of the updated gameplay and graphics. For the first time in over two decades – since a quick visit in Tomb Raider III back in 1998 – Lara Croft is venturing into India, a location rarely seen in video games. This could be a significant development for the series, allowing a previously brief setting to become a central and meaningful part of the story when Tomb Raider: Catalyst is released in 2027, and potentially breathe new life into the franchise.

46 Years Ago Today, Steven Spielberg’s Forgotten Flop Almost Derailed His Career (But It Started an Amazing Trend)

Look, Spielberg is a master of so many genres, but comedy has always been his Achilles’ heel. He’s really only tackled a straight-up comedy once – his sixth film, 1941. And honestly, he hasn’t gone near that territory since! It debuted 46 years ago today, and it seems he learned his lesson. While he’s dipped his toe in with funny-ish dramas like Catch Me If You Can and The Terminal, he’s definitely steered clear of making another full-on comedy.

Pragmata Demo Released to Improve PC Optimization, as Capcom Focuses on “Comfort First”

I recently read an interview with the folks behind the game – producer Naoto Oyama and director Cho Yonghee – and they explained why they’re letting players try out a demo now. It’s mostly about making sure the game runs smoothly on a ton of different computers, and they’re even testing how well mouse and keyboard controls work. They said it’s a tough job because everyone has different setups, but their main goal is a stable frame rate. They really want the game to feel good to play, even if that means they have to tone down some of the graphics a bit. They prioritized comfort over flashy visuals, which I think is awesome!
