Even though superhero shows are incredibly popular right now, DC Comics has a strong background in television, consistently delivering shows that focus on well-developed characters and creative visuals. Remarkably, many of these older shows still hold up today, remaining high-quality despite changes in how television is made and what audiences expect.
I’m so excited about this new promo video for Dragon Ball! It’s a beautiful showcase of Akira Toriyama’s artwork, and they’ve really gone all out for the 40th anniversary. Naoki Miyahara directed it, with Kai Makino handling the CG and Chikashi Kubota leading the 2D animation – it looks incredible! But the biggest surprise? Hans Zimmer, the composer behind The Lion King and Dune, created a special theme called “Infinite Future” for it! It’s such an unexpected and amazing collaboration. The new sci-fi movie, Mercy, starring Rebecca Ferguson and Chris Pratt, has received mixed reactions. The story follows a police officer (Pratt) who stands accused of murdering his wife. He’s put on trial by an AI court system – one he actually helped develop to fight crime. The AI judge, Judge Maddox (Ferguson), gives him just 90 minutes to prove his innocence using the system’s technology, or face immediate execution. While the film’s concept is intriguing and relevant to current discussions about AI, it ultimately didn’t quite deliver on its promise.
