There are two versions of the Manhunter story. In the main universe, J’onn J’onzz is the last surviving Martian who came to Earth and uses his powers to protect it. But in an alternate universe, things are very different. Here, John Jones is an FBI agent struggling with his personal life. After an accident, he connects with a Martian consciousness, becoming a being of pure thought focused on promoting empathy. Initially, it was believed he could only influence thoughts, but a recent comic issue revealed John possesses even greater powers.

While Smaug and Toothless are famous dragons, they don’t tell the whole story. Dragons have appeared in movies for decades before them, and have represented many different things throughout fantasy filmmaking. In Western medieval stories, dragons were usually seen as dangerous obstacles for heroes to overcome. However, in East Asian tales, they were often considered lucky, god-like figures. Fantasy films have used both of these ideas, creating dragons that are tricksters, powerful spirits, symbols of family history, and even representations of new technology.

A significant change in Pokemon Champions is the removal of Individual Values (IVs). Instead of IVs, players will use in-game currency called Victory Points to customize their Pokemon’s stats, moves, and abilities. This isn’t the only new approach to team building, however. The game will start with a smaller selection of Pokemon, focusing on fully evolved forms and leaving out earlier stages of evolution. While Pikachu might be an exception, Pokemon Champions generally won’t include Pokemon that need to evolve – only their final forms will be available.

The highly anticipated One Piece: Elbaph Arc is set to begin a new chapter for the series, debuting on the Spring 2026 anime schedule. Episode 1156 will kick off this major arc, following Monkey D. As a huge fan of Andy Weir – I absolutely loved Project Hail Mary, and I think it’s going to be remembered as one of the best sci-fi books of the last ten years – I was really bummed to hear some news he shared recently. He was talking about the movie release on a podcast and mentioned he actually tried to create a Star Trek show. Sadly, Kurtzman and Paramount passed on his pitch, which is honestly pretty frustrating to hear!

After the huge success of The Hunger Games, everyone was eager to turn another one of Stephenie Meyer’s books into a big movie series. That’s how, right as The Twilight movies were finishing up, we got The Host in 2013. It was based on her 2008 novel, and starred Saoirse Ronan as Melanie, a teenager fighting for her life – and the world’s! Basically, an alien is trying to take over her mind, and she has to stop it, along with the rest of the alien race, from taking over the planet. It was a really exciting story!
