I really wanted to enjoy Pokopia – you always hope a $70 game will be good! But it surprised me with how much I actually loved it, mostly because it does some really clever and fresh things with the traditional Pokémon formula. That’s why I can see why so many people think it’s the best Pokémon game ever. Honestly, I hope the main series takes some inspiration from Pokopia because it’s clear they could really use it.
Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One, adapted from Ernest Cline’s popular novel, doesn’t quite fit neatly into the same category as those other movies. While most of them are fantasy, Ready Player One is science fiction. Plus, although the book is often considered young adult fiction, its nostalgic themes and references actually resonate more with adults. The movie, which came out eight years ago, has a similar appeal.
Before its official release on April 17th, the film Normal has received positive reviews, earning an 85% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. This is a slightly higher score than the first Nobody film (83%) and better than Nobody 2 (76%). While critics seem to like Normal, it’s worth noting that both Nobody movies were also very popular with audiences, receiving scores of 94% and 88% respectively. We’ll have to wait until Normal is released in theaters to see what audiences think of it.

While Smaug and Toothless are famous dragons, they don’t tell the whole story. Dragons have appeared in movies for decades before them, and have represented many different things throughout fantasy filmmaking. In Western medieval stories, dragons were usually seen as dangerous obstacles for heroes to overcome. However, in East Asian tales, they were often considered lucky, god-like figures. Fantasy films have used both of these ideas, creating dragons that are tricksters, powerful spirits, symbols of family history, and even representations of new technology.
A significant change in Pokemon Champions is the removal of Individual Values (IVs). Instead of IVs, players will use in-game currency called Victory Points to customize their Pokemon’s stats, moves, and abilities. This isn’t the only new approach to team building, however. The game will start with a smaller selection of Pokemon, focusing on fully evolved forms and leaving out earlier stages of evolution. While Pikachu might be an exception, Pokemon Champions generally won’t include Pokemon that need to evolve – only their final forms will be available.
