There’s a clear difference between a movie doing poorly and being a complete failure. A flop means a film earns significantly less than its production cost. Underperforming, however, means a movie makes a small loss or only a small profit – like Stir of Echoes and Wes Craven’s New Nightmare, which both had modest results. Generally, a film needs to earn roughly twice its production budget to be considered profitable, because that budget doesn’t include the cost of marketing. The films listed below didn’t even come close to reaching that goal.

Today, Ubisoft announced that its popular franchises – Assassin’s Creed, Rainbow Six, and Far Cry – are now part of a new business group called Vantage Studios. IGN reports that this group also includes a 25% investment from Tencent. The name ‘Vantage Studios’ wasn’t decided by executives; instead, it was chosen by a vote of the team’s 2,300 employees.

The biggest improvement for Super Mario Galaxy and its sequel on the Switch 2 is how they look. The new hardware allows for 4K resolution, which makes the platforming gameplay more visually appealing than ever before. It’s also said to run with a consistently smooth framerate, meaning Mario’s jumps will feel incredibly fluid. There might be a small performance decrease when playing handheld, but all signs suggest this will be another well-done port by Nintendo.
