Over its opening weekend, *The Long Walk* made $11.5 million in the US, landing it at number four in the box office rankings. While a solid start, it didn’t quite reach the $14 million debut of *The Monkey*, which premiered in February. This is a bit unexpected, as critics generally liked *The Long Walk* more. While *The Conjuring* films and related movies subject Judy to terrifying experiences, the character’s life isn’t easy even outside the films. In fact, the way the franchise unfolds creates a confusing and difficult-to-ignore inconsistency in Judy’s story.

Shiraki confirmed this poll is just the beginning, stating they plan to build a system that lets readers directly influence which series are published. This shows Kodansha is testing a new approach where audience feedback shapes its publishing decisions.
