This Forgotten 1990s Sitcom Was the Closest NBC Ever Got to a True Frasier Replacement

Many popular comedies, including Just Shoot Me, Scrubs, The Office, Workaholics, Parks and Recreation, Superstore, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Abbott Elementary, St Denis Medical, and DMV, likely wouldn’t exist without the influence of Cheers. Interestingly, Frasier, a very successful spinoff of Cheers, didn’t inspire nearly as many copycats, despite being almost as popular. The sitcom Newsradio was one of the few shows that managed to capture a similar feel to Frasier, though it focused more on a group of characters rather than a single main lead.
