I don’t usually buy popcorn, but I’ve been really enjoying the competition between movies to create the most over-the-top popcorn buckets. We’ve seen some wild designs recently, like the $80 Galactus bucket for The Fantastic Four: First Steps and a very popular, adult-themed Dune 2 bucket. Now, the new movie Avatar: Fire and Ash is joining the trend with a popcorn bucket that costs a lot of money.
AMC and Regal are now selling a limited-edition Avatar: Fire and Ash Banshee Popcorn Bucket. It’s designed to look like the glowing mountain banshees from the movie, and is both a functional popcorn holder and a cool collectible display piece. The bucket has impressively detailed wings and a design that almost looks like it could fly! However, be prepared – the price might surprise you.

The Bucket Looks Cool, But The Price Is Steep
Regal says this bucket is designed to look like the banshees from the movie Avatar, with a vibrant blue color and details meant to resemble wings. It’s meant to be a display piece for collectors, not just a typical plastic container. It’s quite large, holding 85 ounces and measuring 26 x 9 x 12 inches. Just be aware that it needs to be hand-washed! You can see a picture of it below.

There’s a limit of three items per customer. Be aware that all sales are final – no refunds, returns, or cancellations are allowed, and it doesn’t qualify for any discounts. Once you buy it, you own it – no take-backs! The price is $79.95.
Eighty dollars is definitely expensive. However, many companies have been increasingly selling items as collectibles rather than practical tools. We’ve seen a trend of high-priced releases focused on appealing to fans, looking good on display, and simply being fun to own, even if they aren’t essential. Other collector’s items, like the Galactus bucket, have cost about the same.

Fans Are Reacting Exactly How You’d Expect
The internet is definitely buzzing about this! Here are some of the most interesting reactions people have shared, quoted exactly as they posted them:
- @Brad_801: “I want it NOW! 😂”
- @urstrulyzx: “Where will you keep it that big bucket while watching, that will hamper your viewing experience no ?”
- @Grumpy__Bear__: “That’ll be $75”
- @GreatestROBever: “That popcorn going to fly away”
- @JohnnyDaMango: “Is it out?”
- @MajesticColt): “Wow that’s nice”
- @SoloDoloPyro666: “@LadiiiPyro movie date with this guy? When the avatar movie come out?”
- @DiegoRiani: “🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰”
The Banshee bucket is definitely pricey, but collectors are drawn to its unique, impressive design – even if they complain a little about the cost. It signals a shift in movie merchandise, becoming more like high-end fashion items. Despite the price tag, many fans seem eager to buy it.
The new action movie, Avatar: Fire and Ash, arrives in theaters on December 19th. Before then, you can rewatch the original Avatar films on Disney+ and decide if you’ll be seeing the sequel on opening weekend – as a regular movie fan, or as someone fully committed with a large (and expensive!) popcorn bucket shaped like a Banshee.
