One of the actors from the upcoming movie Avengers: Doomsday says filming will resume at just the right moment. With the movie’s promotion already in full swing, it’s shaping up to be the biggest, most ambitious story Marvel Studios has ever told. Although details about the plot are still secret, excitement is growing to see what Marvel has planned for this huge team-up.
David Harbour, who plays a role in Avengers: Doomsday, has announced he’ll be filming additional scenes for the movie in the coming weeks. He shared at the premiere of DTF St. Louis that he’s heading back to London for “a couple more days” to complete some remaining work with Marvel Studios.
We still have a bit more filming to do for the new Avengers movie. We’re heading to London for a couple of extra days to finish it up.
This is good timing for Marvel Studios. Reshoots will begin roughly three months after the initial trailers for Doomsday were shown in theaters and online. This gives Disney and Marvel time to review fan feedback and make any necessary changes to the film during the reshoots, which Harbour will participate in.
Although four short teasers came out in December, we still don’t know when the full trailer for the movie will be released. It’s also unclear how long the additional filming will take or what scenes they’ll be shooting.
Scheduled for release in December 2026, Avengers: Doomsday will be the fifth Avengers movie and the second major Marvel Cinematic Universe film of that year. The film boasts a massive cast, including Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom and over 30 other returning MCU actors. The story promises a universe-spanning adventure with the very survival of all life hanging in the balance.
Why Avengers: Doomsday’s Production Strategy Will Work

Marvel is going all-out with promotion for its new movie, Doomsday, starting the campaign over a year before it even hits theaters. This big push comes after some recent Marvel solo films haven’t done as well with audiences or critics, and Marvel wants to make sure Doomsday can reach the massive success of 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.
As a huge film fan, I was really impressed with how well the first trailer for Doomsday kept the movie buzzing for over a month. It definitely got everyone excited about all the other promotional stuff that followed. Plus, the early word is that Disney is really happy with how the sequel is shaping up, and even people at competing studios are predicting it’s going to be the biggest movie of the year – that’s a pretty strong sign!
Currently, Marvel hasn’t given any indication of when they’ll share another trailer or details about Doomsday, as they’re still keeping most of the characters and plot under wraps.
Despite the need for some additional filming soon, and the exciting hints about the movie that are circulating, Marvel has good reason to be optimistic as Doomsday gets a fresh wave of publicity with new trailers and marketing.
