Avengers: Doomsday Is Already Tracking for Massive Box Office Opening

Although Avengers: Doomsday isn’t scheduled to be released for eight more months, early predictions suggest it will be a major box office success.

Marvel is currently finishing up work on Avengers: Doomsday, which is set to hit US theaters in December. The next Avengers movie, Secret Wars, is planned for release in 2027. Joe and Anthony Russo directed Doomsday.

Marvel has released four teasers for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie. The first showed that Chris Evans will reprise his role as Captain America, the second highlighted Thor (Chris Hemsworth), and the third featured several X-Men characters. The final teaser focused on Shuri/Black Panther (Letitia Wright), Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), and other characters.

What is the Avengers: Doomsday box office update?

Although firm box office predictions for Avengers: Doomsday’s opening weekend aren’t available yet, a recent report in The Hollywood Reporter indicates the film could be even more popular than expected. According to sources, early tracking shows significant and growing interest in the movie.

There was concern that the new Avengers movie might not do as well in theaters, as some recent Marvel films haven’t been as successful as they once were. The last Avengers film, Endgame, had a huge opening weekend, earning $357.1 million in the US and Canada. That was significantly higher than the opening of Infinity War, which made $258.2 million. Earlier Avengers films like Age of Ultron ($191.3 million) and the first Avengers movie ($207 million) also had strong openings, but not as strong as Endgame.

It’s still unclear if “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Dune: Part Three” will both release on December 17, 2026, as they’re currently scheduled to do. While there’s been talk that one of the movies might be delayed, as of now, both are still planned for that date.

Avengers: Secret Wars is then dated for December 18, 2027.
