Some couples have found their piece of paradise.
The final episode of the tenth season of “Bachelor in Paradise” has been aired, marking the end of the journey for contestants from both the original series and its spinoff. These islanders either found their ideal partner or are leaving the show as they came – single, although possibly not quite ready to engage in new romantic pursuits.
This year, the only engaged couples set to depart from the show are Spencer Conley (a contestant from Jenn Tran’s season) and Jess Edwards (from Joey Graziadei’s season). They have captured not just each other’s affection but also the hearts of many viewers due to their strong bond.
Although they didn’t end up getting engaged, Alexe Godin (Grant Ellis’ season) and Andrew Spencer (Katie Thurston’s season) are another couple who received a portion of the $500,000 prize money and, it seems, found lasting love. Both Alex and Andrew, along with Spencer and Jess, were still together at the time when the finale was broadcasted.
In the climax, there was an unexpected turn of events: each finalist was presented with a challenging decision – either accepting love or taking home $250,000. Interestingly, Alexe, Andrew, Jess, and Spencer all opted for love instead of the monetary prize.
Fortunately, every couple received three envelopes containing undisclosed sums of money. In the end, Alexe and Andrew received $125,000 while Jess and Spencer walked away with $190,000.
It’s not just the finalists who have experienced enduring love; others like Dale Moss (previously engaged to Clare Crawley from The Bachelorette), Kat Izzo (from Zach Shallcross’ season), Jeremy Simon (Jenn’s season), and Bailey Brown (Grant’s season) are also in happy relationships. Although they were eliminated before the finales, their love stories have persisted.
During their time in paradise, graduates from the Golden Bachelor and Bachelorette caused quite a stir. Notably, April Kirkwood (a past golden alum) and Sean McLaughlin (from The Bachelorette) shared a kiss during a challenge. Their presence definitely left an impression.
According to showrunner Scott Teti, who spoke with Variety in July, the distinctive aspect of introducing the Goldens lies in their perspective. The Goldens enter with fewer restraints, having lived more experiences. They seem much less confined, and their thought process appears to be more unfiltered.
Plus, there was some intergenerational advice being passed around.
Scott noted that when the two generations mingle, it creates a lively blend. The youngsters are instructing the elders on dating apps, like swiping left or crafting messages, while the older ones offer wisdom such as ‘lower your standards, dear, to find a man.’ This exchange was quite amusing and heartwarming.
