The animated series Bat-Fam offers a fun and quirky take on Batman’s larger family of heroes and villains, all sharing a home together. It’s full of touching and funny moments, especially with unusual characters like a ghostly Ra’s Al Ghul and the unpredictable Man-Bat added to the usual chaos of Batman’s world. While the animation is excellent, ComicBook recently spoke with the show’s creators and voice actors to find out if they’d be interested in playing their characters in a live-action adaptation, and whether they think the show’s unique blend of humor and emotion would work as a live-action series.
As a huge fan, I’m really excited to hear the showrunner, Mike Roth, thinks a live-action version is totally possible! He believes the show’s unique and quirky designs are actually a strength, and with today’s CGI, they could really bring them to life. He’s especially enthusiastic about how awesome a live-action Man-Bat could look – and honestly, who wouldn’t be?
Roth mentioned he’d love to actually build the upgraded Batmobile from the show, and if he did, he’d definitely drive it around town. He joked it might be a bumpy ride, possibly even knocking his teeth out! He recalled that Adam West, who played Batman in the 1966 series, owned the original Batmobile and would occasionally drive it around Burbank, often parking it at places like IKEA or Target. Roth thought it was really cool to see.
The actors, including Yonas Kibreab who plays Little Batman, seem enthusiastic about the possibility, though it would take some adjustment. Kibreab said, “It would be really cool, but also a little strange, since we’re used to relying on our voices. Adding stunts and physical action would be amazing though.”
Haley Tju thinks playing the character Claire would be interesting, even though Claire is supposed to be 12 years old. Since the character’s age changes due to a special event in the show, Tju believes they could find a way to make it work. She even joked that Yonas would be a great live-action Batman! Tju feels she could portray both the young and adult versions of the character, and is enthusiastic about the possibility. “I’d love to make it happen,” she said, suggesting they explore the idea.
A live-action adaptation of the Bat-Family really needs to include Ra’s Al Ghul, as he’s a key source of conflict for the group. Michael Benyaer plays Ra’s and is eager to reprise the role if the show gets made.

Benyaer expressed his enthusiasm for the possibility, noting the casting seemed focused on finding actors who could embody the characters in a live-action format. He pointed out that the existing cast, from Batman to Alicia and James Cromwell, could potentially transition to live-action roles, as has been done with other animated comedies. While it’s not certain, he’d be thrilled if it happened.
Fans are currently hoping for a second season of Bat-Fam, and many are also excited about the possibility of seeing these characters and this unique world adapted into a live-action show someday.
Bat-Fam season 1 is currently streaming on Prime Video.
