With the release of Battlefield 6‘s first season on October 28th approaching, Battlefield Studios has shared a new gameplay trailer. The trailer showcases the Blackwell Fields map, which will be one of the first new additions available when the season launches.
The trailer also reveals Eastwood, another map coming to Battlefield 6 during Season 1. Beyond that, it highlights the other new features, including fresh game modes and weapons. The first new mode is called Strikepoint – it’s a 4v4 match where each player only has one life per round.
Season 1 will kick off with “Rogue Ops” in November. Following that, on December 9th, we’ll launch “Winter Offensive” with a festive update to the Empire State map. Also in November, the “California Resistance” phase will introduce the character Eastwood. This phase also includes a new 8-versus-8 game mode called “Sabotage,” where two teams compete against each other.
Last month, we learned more about what to expect in Season 1 of Battlefield 6, including the new weapons and vehicles that will be released over the season’s three-month period.
Since launching on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on October 10th, Battlefield 2042 has been a huge win for EA. The company reported over 7 million copies sold in the first three days, along with a total of 15 million hours of gameplay watched on streaming platforms. Players also jumped in quickly, completing over 172 million matches during the launch weekend.
“First and foremost, we want to thank our players. Battlefield 6 was built with our fans,” said Battlefield Studios general manager Bryon Beede in a press release. “From the initial concept through to the implementation of Battlefield Labs and into the record-shattering Open Beta, we have been obsessed with player feedback. Together, with our players, we’ve had a singular goal: to craft the best Battlefield ever. And this is just the beginning—our first season of new content is just 12 days away”
Vince Zampella, head of Battlefield Studios, expressed heartfelt thanks to both the development team and the dedicated Battlefield community for making the launch of Battlefield 6 possible. He said they don’t take this support for granted and promised more exciting content is on the way in the coming weeks.
