Battlefield 6 is currently available to play for free for a limited time, and it’s on sale if you decide you like it. It’s been one of the most popular games of 2025, and EA claims it had the biggest launch of any shooter this year. However, this was announced shortly after Black Ops 7 came out, so it’s still too early to say which game will be more successful overall, especially since Black Ops 7 is likely to see a boost in sales during the holidays. Both games are now adding new content like maps, game modes, and battle passes to keep players engaged.
Battlefield 6’s first season has already brought two new maps, game modes, and lots of content through in-game events and the battle pass. The biggest addition was the unexpected release of Battlefield REDSEC, a free-to-play experience that includes both a battle royale and traditional player-versus-player combat, offering the large-scale warfare Battlefield is known for. However, players were still missing classic modes like Conquest, Rush, and Breakthrough on the new maps… until now! You can now try these core modes for free.
Battlefield 6 Goes Free to Play for a Limited Time
Okay, so Battlefield 6 is totally free to play right now on everything – PC, PlayStation, Xbox, the works! It’s a perfect chance to check it out, especially with the holidays coming up. Honestly, it might even help me figure out what I want for Christmas – maybe I’ll ask for the full game if I like it! The free trial isn’t everything, though. You only get access to three maps and four game modes. But hey, they picked some really good ones! We’re talking Eastwood and Blackwell Fields – Eastwood is seriously a fantastic map, probably the best in the game. And then there’s Siege of Cairo, which is another solid choice.
The Battlefield 6 trial will include the popular Conquest and Breakthrough modes, as well as Team Deathmatch and a brand new, smaller-scale mode called Sabotage. It’s a fantastic way to experience the game! To access the trial, you’ll need to download Battlefield REDSEC. If you enjoy the trial, Battlefield 6 is currently on sale for a week on all platforms. The trial ends December 2nd at 4 AM Pacific Time.
