Battlefield 6’s battle royale mode includes content not found in the core game. The game has been very successful, largely due to its impressive multiplayer experience. While the single-player campaign didn’t resonate with players, the robust multiplayer is the game’s biggest strength. The developers at Battlefield Studios are actively listening to feedback and working on improvements, and the game is already a major hit. A recent surprise release suggests even more content is on the way, promising continued growth for the game.
After a long wait, the battle royale mode for the latest Battlefield has unexpectedly launched. It’s available as a free-to-play game called Battlefield REDSEC, part of Season 1 for Battlefield. You don’t need to buy the main game to play it – REDSEC is a standalone experience with more than just battle royale. It also features a new player-versus-player mode called Gauntlet, which is highly competitive and fast-paced, but gives you multiple lives. Beyond these modes, the game includes other interesting features and surprises.
Battlefield 6‘s Battle Royale Teases Naval Warfare With New Boats
One of the most impressive things about Battlefield REDSEC is its variety of vehicles. You can pilot helicopters, drive off-road buggies, and control tanks, and the battle royale mode even includes boats – a feature players have been asking for. While it’s not full-scale naval combat yet, it’s a great first step in that direction.
Ever since the early test version of Battlefield 6, players have been asking for boats. The current maps don’t have any large bodies of water to explore, keeping gameplay mostly on land. The developers have hinted at adding them, and code for boats was even discovered within the game files. While the discovery might relate to a separate project called Battlefield REDSEC, most people still believe boats will eventually be added to the main multiplayer experience.
From what I’ve observed, the available boats seem to be limited to RHIBs – those inflatable, motorized boats with machine guns. There aren’t any larger, more heavily armed vessels, and that’s probably because most of the combat will happen on land. Still, these boats should be a useful way to quickly move around the map and avoid direct confrontations.

Like many battle royale games, including Warzone, Battlefield REDSEC features armor that players can use to reduce damage. Certain classes, like the Assault class, will benefit even more from armor thanks to special abilities tied to their class.
The addition of boats will be a major highlight and we hope it gets players excited for future updates. Currently, boats aren’t available on the new maps in Battlefield 6 Season 1, so players will probably need to wait until next year to experience them in multiplayer.
