The upcoming Baywatch reboot is bringing another iconic character back to the beach.
Fox is bringing back the popular show from the ’90s for a new audience, and plans to include some original cast members for a nostalgic touch.
Erika Eleniak, known for her role as Shauni McClain in the original series’ first two seasons, will reprise the character in a guest appearance.
Shauni, known for her role as a lifeguard, has transitioned from the beach to public service and is now a city councilwoman in Santa Monica, according to Variety.
She’s going back to the beach to start the yearly Beach Games, a competition between the Baywatch lifeguards and the Coast Guard.
She will be working closely with Hobie Buchannon, played by Stephen Amell.

The show first aired from 1989 to 2001. Erika was a cast member for the first two seasons and appeared in the first two episodes of the third season before leaving the series.
Shauni recently married fellow lifeguard Eddie Kramer (Billy Warlock) not long after being rescued from a kidnapping.
I was so thrilled when they decided to start a new life together in Australia! But I was really disappointed to learn later, through the Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding movie, that things didn’t work out and they actually split up sometime before that.
She hasn’t been seen in the role since her last appearance in 1992.
The new Baywatch series will follow the tradition of the original, featuring a fresh team of lifeguards protecting the beaches of Santa Monica. We’ll see them handle both dangerous rescues and their own complicated relationships.

Matt Nix, known for successfully reviving shows like True Lies and Turner & Hooch, is now in charge of the new Baywatch series as its showrunner.
Stephen Amell will be joined by Jessica Belkin, who plays Charlie Vale, along with Shay Mitchell from Pretty Little Liars as Trina, and Hassie Harrison from Yellowstone as Nat.
The film features rising stars Thaddeus LaGrone as Brad, Brooks Nader as Selene, and Livvy Dunne as Grace.
Nadia Gray, known from Days of Our Lives, will play Lisa, and TikTok personality and actor Noah Beck (from Sidelined) joins the cast as Luke.
The new series is set to premiere on Fox during their 2026/2027 season.
Baywatch will air on Fox in 2026.
