Giorgio Locatelli is joining Grace Dent as a judge on the next season of Celebrity MasterChef.
The new season of the show will be back on BBC One and iPlayer this summer. Giorgio Locatelli is already well-known within the MasterChef family, as he’s been a judge on the Italian edition since 2018.
Giorgio Locatelli is a highly respected chef with over forty years of experience. He’s known as one of the UK’s leading chefs and a famous Italian chef internationally. He received his first Michelin star in 1999 and earned a second one just a few years later in 2003.
He’s expanded his career beyond the kitchen, becoming a TV presenter. He’s hosted two shows for BBC Two: Italy Unpacked and Sicily Unpacked.
Marco Locatelli shared his excitement about co-hosting Celebrity MasterChef with Grace. He said it’s a privilege and teased that viewers will be in for a treat as the celebrity contestants are really challenged in the kitchen this season.
John Torode, who co-hosts the regular MasterChef with Anna Haugh, said Giorgio Locatelli is a great new member of the Celebrity MasterChef team. He’s been a fan of Locatelli’s work for years and especially loved eating at his restaurant, Locanda Locatelli, calling it a favorite spot.
I’m thrilled to share my love of food and cooking skills with everyone. I also enjoy bringing a bit of elegance to the MasterChef competition, and I think Giorgio will be a strong competitor.

According to Kalpna Patel-Knight, head of entertainment at the BBC, the new series will be a treat for viewers. She highlighted Giorgio’s exceptional cooking skills and Michelin-star experience, combined with the energy he and Grace bring to the show as they challenge the celebrities. She promises a ‘delicious’ series full of exciting culinary moments.
