The second season of the hit show Beef is now streaming on Netflix, and its music is already getting a lot of attention for bringing back familiar feelings and memories for many viewers.
The show centers on Josh and Lindsay, managers at a country club, and the escalating conflict they have with two staff members, Ashley and Austin.
The conflict between these couples will become intense and take surprising turns, even forcing them to revisit happier moments from their past. Music will be a significant part of this journey.
As a reviewer, I learned from the show’s creator, Lee Sung Jin, that they really honed in on Hot Chip and LCD Soundsystem to build out Josh’s character – those bands truly felt right for him. It was a cool detail to discover Hot Chip even made a little appearance on screen in the new season!
I found it really funny when Finneas O’Connell pointed out how the movie portrays a millennial couple’s peak experiences – LCD Soundsystem and Hot Chip at Coachella – as happening 20 to 15 years ago. He said it’s ‘horrifying’ because it feels like yesterday to those of us who lived through it! It really highlights how quickly time flies and how recent those ‘nostalgic’ moments actually are for a lot of people.
Here’s a complete list of all the songs from the Beef Season 2 soundtrack, along with information about the original music.
Who composed the score for Beef season 2?

Finneas O’Connell, known professionally as Finneas, created the original music for the second season of Beef.
Finneas O’Connell is a singer, songwriter, and producer best known for his collaboration with his sister, Billie Eilish. They’ve worked together on several popular songs, including the James Bond theme “No Time to Die” and the hit song “What Was I Made For?” from the Barbie movie.
In addition to his band’s work, he’s put out two solo albums—Optimist and For Cryin’ Out Loud!—and has written songs for artists like Selena Gomez, Kid Cudi, and Celeste.
