It’s a bit of a lull in streaming right now. The biggest new shows and movies have already been released this month, but there’s still a few days to go before the next wave of content arrives. This can make it hard to find something to watch, but don’t worry – there are still some hidden gems coming to streaming services. If you’re looking for a good action thriller, Hulu has a new one available.
Ben Affleck’s 2016 movie, The Accountant, will be available to stream on Hulu starting February 27th. The film stars a large ensemble cast, including Anna Kendrick, J.K. Simmons, and Jon Bernthal, and while critics had mixed reactions, it was a box office success. Fans especially enjoyed its action scenes. A sequel, The Accountant 2, is scheduled for release in 2025, but watching both films won’t be simple.
Fans Will Need To Do a Little Extra Work to Stream Both The Accountant and The Accountant 2
At the end of the month, the movie The Accountant will be available on Hulu, letting viewers follow Ben Affleck’s character, Christian Wolff—a brilliant accountant with autism who secretly helps criminals. However, if you want to watch the sequel, The Accountant 2, you’ll need a different streaming service, as it’s currently on Prime Video. This means fans will need subscriptions to both Hulu and Prime Video to see both films. While it’s not uncommon for movie series to be split across different streaming platforms, it can be a bit inconvenient.
Look, I really enjoyed the first Accountant movie, but honestly, the sequel was a step up – critics agreed, and audiences showed up to prove it. Now, a third film is on the way, and director Gavin O’Connor has some interesting ideas. He’s envisioning a more buddy-movie dynamic, really leaning into the relationship between Ben Affleck’s Christian and Jon Bernthal’s Braxton – something the second film started to explore. That’s a direction I’m excited about, and with both actors reportedly returning, it could really add a new layer to the story we’ve been following.
