Bergerac season 2 first look finally revealed as more British acting favourites join the cast

I’m so excited! U and U&DRAMA just dropped some first-look photos from the second season of Bergerac – and they’re celebrating wrapping up filming, which means it’s getting closer to release! I can’t wait to see what’s in store!

Damien Molony will return as Jim Bergerac in the second season of the show, and new photos reveal filming is taking place in the beautiful landscapes of Jersey.

The photos also feature returning cast members Zoë Wanamaker, Robert Gilbert, and Chloé Sweetlove. We also see some of the new faces joining season 2, like Adrian Edmondson, Lesley Sharp, and Camilla Beeput, along with newcomer Turlough Convery.

Season 2 will follow Jim Bergerac (played by Molony) as he rebuilds his life, and his mother-in-law, Charlie Hungerford (played by Wanamaker), as she begins a new relationship.

Jim is starting to date again, encouraged by Kim, which is a significant milestone for him. However, when he meets Nicola, a tourist, they form a connection, leaving viewers to wonder if this could lead to a new relationship for Jim.

Just as Jim’s new relationship begins, a murder throws everything into chaos. The groom is found dead in his hotel room during a wedding reception on the island, and all the guests immediately become suspects.

If Jim wants to catch the killer, he needs to figure out what the victim meant by their final, puzzling words. As he digs into the past, he uncovers more and more hidden truths, making this his most complicated case so far.

Toby Whithouse has updated the classic 1980s detective series Bergerac, but actor Jamie Molony portrays the lead character in a way that’s quite distinct from John Nettles’ original performance.

In an interview with TopMob magazine before the show’s debut, Molony explained that he didn’t want to imitate John Nettles’ portrayal of Bergerac. He aimed to create his own unique interpretation, believing his version would be more intense and gritty.
