The popular crime series Bergerac, which returned last year with a reboot starring Damian Moloney, is coming back for another season. We now have the official premiere date!
Season 2 will premiere on U&DRAMA at 9pm on Thursday, April 16, 2026. That’s roughly 14 months after the first season aired.
Season two brings detective Jim Bergerac (John Moloney) back to Jersey, where he’s confronted with his toughest case yet after a shocking incident at a wedding.
Jim has cautiously begun dating again, encouraged by Kim (Chloé Sweetlove), but he still deeply misses his late wife. He doesn’t really expect to find someone new and feels he’s doing it more to please Kim than because he wants to.
The story then follows Bergerac as he meets Nicola (Camilla Beeput), a tourist, and a connection forms between them. Could this be the beginning of a romance for him?
Bergerac’s strong-willed mother-in-law, Charlie Hungerford (played by Zoë Wanamaker), is experiencing a new romance with the lively and charismatic Nigel (Adrian Edmondson).
Just as Bergerac meets Nicola, he’s immediately thrown into a new investigation: the groom at a wedding has been found murdered in his hotel room. Investigators hope the groom’s last words might reveal who killed him, and Jersey is counting on Bergerac to solve the case.

When the show was renewed for a second season, Moloney expressed his excitement about returning to Jersey, calling the island “beautiful” in a statement.
It’s been amazing revisiting this famous role. My predecessor was much faster at solving cases – they cracked six while I’ve only managed one – so I definitely have some ground to make up.
“I can’t wait to explore the character of Jim Bergerac further and see what case we crack next.”
Bergerac will return to U&DRAMA at 9pm on Thursday 16 April 2026.
