Popular manga like One Piece, Chainsaw Man, and Boruto: Two Blue Vortex will continue to be released on a regular schedule. However, some series are taking longer to produce new chapters. This is true for Berserk, which is continuing with a new creative team – Kouji Mori and Studio Gaga – after the sad loss of its original creator, Kentaro Miura. While fans are waiting for the next chapter, which has been delayed for months, Berserk has recently announced positive news regarding its North American release and overall success in Western markets.
As a huge fan, I’m so excited to share some incredible news from Dark Horse Comics! They’ve just announced that Berserk has reached a massive ten million copies in circulation here in North America! That includes all the individual volumes and the beautiful Berserk Deluxe Editions that collect multiple chapters. And that’s not all – volume 43 of the manga is coming out on October 27th! They did mention that work on volume 15 of the Deluxe Editions is on hold for now, as they’re waiting for enough material to be ready. If you want to see the official announcement yourself, you can find it here!
Berserk’s Dark Future

If you need a quick recap of the Berserk manga, the latest chapter (383) came out last year. It left Guts trapped in a strange cave by the Kushan Empire, who don’t trust him because of a mark on his neck linked to a powerful, supernatural group. Fans are eagerly awaiting chapter 384, as Guts remains imprisoned and no new updates have been released. Despite the tragic passing of creator Kentaro Miura, Berserk continues, with Kouji Mori and Studio Gaga working from Miura’s notes and previous discussions to finish the story and deliver a satisfying conclusion.
Unfortunately, there’s no news about a new anime series for Berserk. This is disappointing because the manga has so many incredible stories and fights that haven’t been animated yet. The last animated version was Berserk: Memorial Edition, which combined the three films covering the Golden Age Arc. If Berserk ever gets a new series, fans will likely debate whether it should retell the story from the beginning or continue from the controversial 2016 adaptation. Even if it doesn’t return, Berserk‘s impact on the manga world will always be remembered.
