The latest chapter of Berserk, number 384, recently became available, bringing back the popular character Guts. The story finds Guts facing challenges within a strange cave that’s revealing more about his past. Good news for fans: after a long wait, new chapters are coming quickly! Since creator Kentaro Miura’s passing, the team continuing the series has been careful with its release. While it was almost a year between chapters 383 and 384, chapters 385 and 386 will be released soon after each other.

Young Animal, the publisher of Berserk, has announced that writer Kouji Mori and Studio Gaga are diligently working on the manga. As a result, chapter 385 will be released in Japan on June 26th, followed by chapter 386 on July 10th, which will continue to explore key details about Guts’ backstory. While the release date for chapter 387 is still unknown, it may take longer than usual, based on previous schedules. Mori and Studio Gaga have expressed their apologies for any delays, but fans agree the newest chapters are well worth the wait.

Berserk’s Dark Future

Before the release of Chapter 384, writer Kouji Mori issued an apology for the delay. He assured fans that everyone involved was working hard on the world of Berserk. Mori explained that this chapter was something Kentaro Miura had been developing for two decades and proved extremely difficult to complete, even after hearing about it many times. He credited editor Shimada with helping them finally finish it through careful review and collaboration, noting Shimada’s long-standing mentorship of both Miura and himself.

The latest chapter of Berserk revealed a huge surprise: while trapped in a cave, Guts was actually inside a strange, shell-like object. The setting also showed that Guts has always been connected to both the human world and a dark, supernatural realm called the “abyss.” This suggests his incredible strength may come from this otherworldly connection, explaining how he’s survived battles others wouldn’t.
