Bethesda has officially announced that Oblivion Remastered will be available on PS5 as a physical copy next month. Rumors about a boxed version have been circulating since the summer, and now we have a release date: October 13th, 2025. It will be the Deluxe Edition that gets the physical disc release.
Bethesda revealed the new version on Bluesky, playfully announcing it as a “Physical Deluxe Edition” appearing in the game’s inventory menu. The release date is set for 13th October, and pre-orders should become available soon.
Even now, developers are continuing to release patches, updates, and fixes for Oblivion Remastered. The game still experiences several technical problems that can impact performance the more you play. However, this classic RPG from the PlayStation 3 era is still a game worth experiencing.
In our Oblivion Remastered PS5 review – where we gave it a 7/10 – we said the updated version is “a great way to remember how amazing the 2006 RPG really was.” Despite some problems with how it runs and some frustrating parts of the game’s design, Virtuos and Bethesda deserve praise for successfully bringing Oblivion back to life without changing what made the original so special, or losing the funny, iconic feel it’s gained over time.
