Look at that horse, look at that horse, look at that horse.
During the weeks following a prop malfunction, Beyoncé added a fresh aspect to her Cowboy Carter Tour.
On the evening of July 10, in Atlanta, Georgia, the 43-year-old entertainer astonished her audience by reappearing aloft the crowd on a golden steed during the performance of “16 Carriages”, marking the end of night one.
The shiny new stage accessory smoothly moved to maintain the singer’s upright stance and float throughout the Mercedes-Benz Stadium until the concert ended, taking over from the red Cadillac she had previously used at a slower pace.
A fan declared on platform X, “16 Carriages has made its return, and this time it’s on a horse!” Another fan echoed, “I have just observed the reemergence of 16 Carriages.
Expressing appreciation for the improved show, another social media user commented, “16 Carriages is back with even more outrageous humor.
In case you missed it, during the live performance on June 28 at Houston’s NRG Stadium, the artist known as “Texas Hold ‘Em” paused when her Cadillac seemed to tilt sideways while in mid-air.
In an unexpected turn of events, I found myself pausing mid-performance, echoing “Hold on, hold on, hold on” into my microphone. Suspended high above, I flashed a reassuring smile towards the audience as the vehicle slowly descended to the heart of the stadium. Taking a moment to express gratitude, I said, “Thank you all for your understanding,” acknowledging the brief delay in our shared experience.
“If ever I fall,” she said after returning to the stage, “I know y’all would catch me.”
Regardless of the unexpected incident, I, a dedicated fan, joined in on the fun and paid tribute to my hometown by sharing clips of the malfunction set to “Sittin’ SIdewayz” by Big Pokey and Paul Wall, with the song title serving as the caption for my June 30 Instagram post.
The Cowboy Carter Tour, where Blue Ivy Carter (13) and Rumi Carter (8), daughters of Beyoncé, have also performed, hasn’t been perfect. There were instances where wardrobe issues occurred, causing some embarrassment, and moments when the mechanical robot arms she was using barely missed hitting her.
One user remarked beneath the video, “She continuously gazed at the floor in astonishment,” and another user stated, “This is quite dangerous. Still, it’s impressive she managed to reach her target.
