Big Sean Denies Having New Girlfriend Amid Jhené Aiko Breakup Rumors

Big Sean is setting the record straight.

The artist, whose full name is Sean Michael Leonard Anderson, addressed rumors about him being seen with a new girlfriend. This came after people began speculating that he and his longtime partner, Jhené Aiko, had broken up.

Okay, so I was totally glued to N3on’s livestream, right? And Big Sean just walked into the background! But then I saw this headline floating around on Instagram – something about him being seen with a new girl after, like, ten years with Jhené? It was awful timing, honestly. The clip just showed him walking by some woman, but everyone’s losing it over it, and I’m trying to piece it all together. It’s just… a lot. I’ve been following him and Jhené for ages, and seeing this headline over the livestream footage? Ugh, it’s everywhere!

In a second comment, per People, Big Sean shared more insight into the moment.

He explained that the girl standing next to Hitboy was edited out of the video. He was confused about why she was so close to him, saying he didn’t notice it until he saw the video and understands why people are upset. He emphasized that he doesn’t know her at all.

Big Sean recently spoke out after rumors began circulating earlier this month suggesting he and Jhené Aiko had ended their relationship of over ten years. Neither he nor Jhené had previously commented on the speculation.

Jhené Aiko and Big Sean began a friendship in 2012, which later became a public relationship in 2016. They share a 2-year-old son named Noah Hasani.

Jhené, who also has a 16-year-old daughter named Namiko with O’Ryan, has often spoken about how naturally her relationship developed.

Jhené explained that she and her partner became very close friends, even supporting each other through difficult times like her brother’s funeral. Eventually, they realized they were both single and already had feelings for each other, leading them to start a relationship. As she told Billboard in 2017, it felt natural to finally be together because they already cared for each other deeply as people.

Although Big Sean and his partner briefly split in 2019 before getting back together in 2020, he’s openly shared that the ups and downs of their relationship haven’t changed his desire to eventually get married.

Sean discussed the challenges in his relationship, saying, “It’s had its highs and lows, and we’re still figuring things out.” Speaking on the Out of Context podcast in August 2024, he added that he sees marriage as the ultimate expression of a strong relationship.

He added, “I would like to, but there’s a lot of work that needs to be done.”
