Black Clover Season 2 Releases Special Trailer for Anime’s Return

The anime series Black Clover is coming back this fall with a new season! To get fans ready, a special trailer has been released recapping everything that’s happened so far. After a five-year wait since the first season ended, fans are really excited for the return of this popular series, and the trailer is a great way to refresh your memory before the new episodes begin.

Good news for “Black Clover” fans! After the manga finished in the spring, the anime’s second season is confirmed to premiere this October. To help everyone get ready, a special recap video of the first season (all 170 episodes!) has been released – you can find it on the official “Black Clover” X account.

When Does Black Clover Season 2 Come Out?

The second season of Black Clover is set to premiere in October as part of the Fall 2026 anime lineup. Although a specific release date hasn’t been announced yet, Crunchyroll will be the exclusive streaming platform for new episodes outside of Japan. The production team is largely the same, with Ayataka Tanemura directing at Studio Pierrot. Keiichiro Ochi is in charge of the scripts, while Itsuko Takeda and Kumiko Tokunaga are designing the characters. Kosei Takahashi will handle props, and Minako Seki is composing the music.

Ayataka Tanemura directed the popular film Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, and the new season of the anime is heading in a very different direction. If the animation quality matches the movie, however, it’s likely to be just as successful. Achieving that level of quality will be challenging, but possible if the animation team has enough time and resources to make the return of the series truly impressive.

What’s Happening in Black Clover Season 2?

Season 2 of Black Clover starts immediately after the dramatic ending of Season 1, which took place five years ago. The first season ended with the Dark Triad attacking and capturing Captain Yami, leaving Asta and his friends just three days to train and prepare for a rematch. Now, they’re launching a new attack on the Spade Kingdom, and the anime promises non-stop, action-packed battles from here on out.

This new season of Black Clover is the second to last story arc from Yuki Tabata’s original manga, so it’s still uncertain how long it will run. Unlike the first season, it probably won’t be released weekly. Similar to One Piece, which now releases in seasons after almost 30 years, Black Clover will likely return with one or two ‘cours’ – blocks of around 12-24 episodes – before pausing and coming back sometime in 2027 or 2028.
