The fire resistance strategy for Formboss in Chapter 5 is spot on – I’ve learned the hard way that underestimating a boss can lead to some pretty fiery situations!

In the game ‘Black Myth Wukong’, there are numerous hidden aspects, such as secret battles with bosses that can be encountered by completing specific tasks. Here, you’ll find a compilation of every discovered secret boss, organized by chapter within ‘Black Myth Wukong’.

Chapter 1

Wandering Wight

Outside the Forest

In case you defeat Yaogui King: Elder Jinchian initially, it’s possible to overlook the first optional boss that roams around the region, as this secret boss may wander off and become difficult to find if you tackle him later on.

Yaogui King: Elder Jinchi

Ancient Guanyin Temple

To access this hidden supervisor, make sure to locate and sound each of the three bells spread across Chapter 1. Once achieved, you’ll be transported to the ancient Guanyin Temple, where you’ll engage in a battle with Elder Jinchi.

Yaogui King: Red Loong

Outside the Forest

To engage this hidden boss, you must progress beyond Chapter 2 and gather the Loong Scales as a prerequisite. The boss can be found concealed behind a nearby waterfall in the outskirts of the Forest.

Chapter 2

Giant Shigandang

Rockrest Flat

In the same area as the Yaogui King: Stone Vanguard, you’ll find this massive boss, known as Giant Shigandang. Contrary to belief, Yaogui King might seem tougher, but Shigandang offers a greater challenge. Interestingly, you can engage them both and gain benefits from both encounters. To do so, gather all six Eyeballs and insert them into the stone heads in the arena of the Yaogui King: Stone Vanguard.

Mad Tiger

Bottom Of The Well

This boss is locked behind the Old Rattle-Drum questline, after descending into the well.

Yellow-Robed Squire

Rockrest Flat

Speak with the Drunken Boar, and complete the entirety of his questline.

Tiger Vanguard (Lesser)

Sandgate Pass

To unlock the hidden leader, known as the Tiger Vanguard, you must first complete the quest initiated by the Yellow-Robed Squire. Upon finishing this questline, you’ll be granted entry to the clandestine Kingdom of Sahi region in Chapter 2. This is a scaled-down version of the actual Tiger Vanguard.

Yaogui King: Fuban

Sandgate Bound

In the captivating realm of Sahi, nestled within its hidden corners, I come across a formidable adversary, reminiscent of Giant Shigandang himself. This colossal figure stands as the ultimate antagonist in Chapter 2’s climactic showdown. However, before engaging him, I must first overcome Tiger Vanguard (Lesser), a worthy challenge indeed.

Yaogui King: Black Loong

Rockrest Flat

The same Loong Scales required to unlock Red Loong in Chapter 1, will allow you to battle Yaogui King: Black Loong in Chapter 2. This secret boss is also concealed behind a waterfall.

Chapter 3

Yaogui Chief: Captain Lotus-Vision

Upper Pagoda

This hidden boss awaits you at the bottom of the cliff just opposite the resting place.

Yaogui King: Cyan Loong

Turtle Island

In the third installment of the Loong series, you’ll encounter the secret boss, Cyan Loong, who can only be located and fought after obtaining the Loong Scales.

Chen Loong

North Shore

Chen Loong can be confronted at the end of his questline in Chapter 3.

Yin Tiger

Village Entrance

After finishing the Chen Loong storyline, you’ll advance to the hidden location in Chapter 3, known as Zodiac Village. Here, you can engage in a battle with the local blacksmith, Yin Tiger, if you wish.

Green-Capped Martialist

Melon Field

In a spacious cave located near the resting spot, you’ll find the final adversary for the Treasure Hunter’s side mission.

Old Ginseng Guai

Towers of Karma

Engaging with the clearly seen blooming plant by ‘Picking’ it, triggers the concealed boss to emerge from below the earth.

Monk from the Sea

Temple Entrance

The tentacle-like boss, which is optional, can be found nestled far inside Thunderclap Temple if you head left from the entrance.

Non-Void

Temple Entrance

To find the final boss of the Fox questline, Non-Void, simply head directly along the path from the Temple’s main entrance.

Chapter 4

Yaogui King: Yellow Loong

Relief of the Fallen Loong

To engage in a battle with the final secret boss, Yellow Loong, it’s essential that you possess the Loong Scales and have successfully defeated all the preceding Loongs, regardless of the sequence in which they were conquered.

Yaogui King: The Duskveil

Cloudnest Peak

In the hidden region of Purple Cloud Mountain, tucked away in Chapter 4, you’ll encounter a colossal secret boss known as The Duskveil during a two-part battle.

Yaogui King: The Scorpionlord

This boss, who may choose to drink, is open to conversation, but only provoked into combat when his barrels are shattered.

Chapter 5

Pale-Axe Stalwart

Ashen Pass I

In this particular zone, you’ll find an extra fight against skeletons or similar undead creatures (it’s not mandatory). Overcoming this enemy is essential if you want to unlock a secondary storyline involving a quest.

Flint Chief

Valley Entrance

It’s advisable to take on this mysterious boss while wearing the Fireproof Mantle, as the battlefield itself is filled with flowing lava. You can find this essential gear in the hidden section of Chapter 1 by searching the body near the bell.

Nine-Capped Lingzhi Guai

Ashen Pass III

1. To encounter another secret underground boss, just pull the conspicuous group of red mushrooms from the ground using ‘Gather’, and then confront Nine-Capped Lingzhi Guai head-on.

Flint Vanguard

Fallen Furnace Crater

On a gradual slope leading away from the Fallen Furnace Crater, your boss moves at a distance, accompanied by a rolling ball. A cluster of rocks will eventually coalesce to form a small stone adversary, serving as a mini-boss.

Mother of Flamlings

Fallen Furnace Crater

Following your victory against Flint Vanguard, you’ll find a luminous area on the ground ahead that can be activated using ‘Deliver’. Collect four pieces of Flame Ore by defeating nearby enemies, and then present them to the Mother of Flamlings to make her emerge from below.

Baw-Lang-lang

Cooling Slope

Before reaching Bishui Cave, the hidden area unlocked after completing Chapter 5, take a detour through the gate first. The fire frog boss you’ll encounter there is quite manageable.

Top Takes Bottom, Bottom Takes Top

Purge Pit

In the heart of Chapter 5, I stumbled upon a hidden lair, shrouded in secrecy. To access this area, I had to embark on the thrilling Five Element Carts quest, a journey that led me to cross swords with Pale-Axe Stalwart – an optional boss who played a crucial role.

Yaogui King: Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast

Corridor of Fire and Ice

In Chapter 5’s hidden section, it’s advisable to challenge the final boss with as much fire resistance as possible. You can do this by equipping the Fireproof Mantle found in Chapter 1’s secret area, along with Body-Cooling Powder enhancements.

Chapter 6

Poison Chief #1 and #2

Verdant Path

Utilize your aerial cloud vessel to ascend towards the highland that overlooks the concealed lairs of these two elusive leaders.

Jiao-Loong of Waves

Verdant Path

Fly using your new cloud-floating charm over the cliff edge close to where you rest, then descend towards the water’s depths. Doing so should summon the mythical sea creature, Jiao-Loong of Waves.

Lang-Baw-Baw

Verdant Path

In another location, there’s a frog leader nestled within the foothills. Starting from your vantage point, navigate your cloud towards the cliff’s precipice, then dive to engage Jiao-Loong of Waves in battle. However, instead of continuing straight ahead, make a sharp turn to the right all the way to the map’s far corner.

Water-Wood Beast

Verdant Path

A secret boss dwells submerged under the tranquil spot. Circumnavigate the area from behind, keeping a keen eye on the waters’ surface for signs of bubbles. Draw nearer to trigger the appearance of this aquatic-beast like boss.

Son of Stones

Verdant Path

From a distance, I can clearly see that ominous boss perched precariously atop the cliff’s edge, balancing gracefully on its left side, directly facing the path where I’d usually take on Jiao-Loong of Waves.

Giant Shigandang

Verdant Path

Just past the Sons of Stone’s boss arena lies your next encounter, a colossal foe named Shigandang the Giant. However, to summon this boss, make sure you have collected all Skandhas in your journey.

Alternate Ending Secret Bosses

Erlang

The Four Heavenly Kings

Erlang Shen

Mei-Jian Peak

In Black Myth Wukong, this threesome of bosses aligned in sequence plays a crucial role in the hidden finale. Erlang Shen stands out as the final and most formidable adversary among them.

Those are all of the optional and hidden bosses in Black Myth Wukong.
