Black Myth: Wukong Update Will Add Boss Rush, Journeyer’s Charts, and New Armor Set

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the latest update for “Black Myth: Wukong” has left me utterly impressed! The new challenges and features it introduces are a testament to the dedication and passion the developers have for this game.

Today, Game Science’s “Black Myth: Wukong” is receiving an update that isn’t your typical bug fixes and enhancements. Instead, it introduces two fresh challenge modes – “Return of Rivals” and “Gauntlet of Legends”. Essentially, these modes offer a boss rematch and boss rush experience. In the former, you can engage in combat with any previously defeated boss at three distinct levels of difficulty.

The second option offers the chance to battle “several adversaries one after another,” some of whom have fresh tactics. Victory over defeated leaders can enhance the game’s difficulty by employing curses. Successfully navigating the Gauntlet yields a new medicine, drink, ammunition, trinkets, gear, and weapons.

After encountering the Keeper, you’ll acquire your first map known as the Journeyer’s Chart, which resembles a traditional map. As you progress through different areas, more maps can be obtained at the Shrine. For those observing Chinese New Year, an Armor Set of Opulence and access to the game’s soundtrack (with some exceptions due to copyright) are also available from the Shrine.

New Gameplay: Challenge

“It’s tough to confront the old rivals anew, but the Great Sage will always prevail!”

  • After completing the game at least once, the Destined One can find “Challenge” at any Keeper’s Shrine.
  • There are two types of challenge available: “Return of Rivals” and “Gauntlet of Legends”.
    “Return of Rivals”
  • The Destined One can challenge a former opponent to a duel, choosing from three levels of difficulty.
  • If any opponents remain undefeated in the main game, the corresponding rebattle will be unavailable.
    “Gauntlet of Legends”
  • The Destined One can battle against multiple opponents in succession, using customized curses to tailor the difficulty.
  • This mode can be difficult, as some old opponents may surprise with new moves. Proceed with caution!
  • If any opponents remain undefeated in the main game, the related gauntlet will be unavailable.
  • Completing any gauntlet rewards players with new rare treasures.
    – Medicine: “Glimmering Scale Pellets” and its formula;

  • Afterwards, for each new territory reached, a “Journeyer’s Chart” can be purchased at the Keeper’s Shrine.

New Equipment: Armor Set of Opulence
