The story, which he’s been building up for days, is that the character Blade will appear in the upcoming movie Avengers: Secret Wars, and it won’t just be a quick appearance – he’ll have a significant role.

I’m so excited about the latest news! It looks like we’re finally going to see Mahershala Ali make his first appearance as Blade in Secret Wars! He’s been cast since 2019, right after Avengers: Endgame, and Marvel has been building towards this. Honestly, getting an actor as talented as Ali felt like the perfect way to take over the role from Wesley Snipes, who really made Blade an icon. Now all we need is a great director to bring some flair to the film and a fantastic stunt team for all the vampire action – that’s what this franchise is all about!

Early this year, insider Jeff Sneider reported that the solo Blade movie was canceled, but the character would still appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to Sneider, instead of a standalone film, Blade will first be introduced as part of a team-up movie called Midnight Sons.

Rumors should always be viewed skeptically, but even if Jeff Sneider was wrong about the timing of Mahershala Ali’s first appearance as Blade in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this new rumor suggests he might be correct about how the character will be used. It seems Blade will be part of a team rather than starring in his own movies.

Marvel Studios got a first look at how audiences would react to Blade with a version of the character appearing in the animated Disney+ series Marvel Zombies. While portrayed visually as Mahershala Ali, the character was voiced by Todd Williams who imitated Ali’s voice.
